1. How many other schools are going to have 15,000 to a game in December against Tenn. Tech?

2. He will build this thing from the ground up.

3. He will be the General Neyland of UT basketball. If he wins a n.c. which I truely think in time he can he will be a living legend. He will have streets named after him, courts in his name, he'll have the keys to the entire state. There aren't many places he can go that all of this will happen. I know we have Mears and Devoe, but as a whole he can write the history of UT b-ball.

4. I LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!

I hope Pearl never leaves UT. Short of one of the BIGs knocking on his door (Duke, UNC, Indiana, etc.), I don't see why he'd really want to. I mean, UT has everything you need to build a winning program. With the right group of experienced guys and a little luck, we're going to be in the thick of things here EVERY year as long as Pearl's around.

Even if the BIGs did come knocking, Pearl might snub them just for spite -- he's just enough anti-establishment to say, "Hey, we don't need your tradition to carry us ... we'll do it on our own and build a tradition." That's just Pearl, and that's part of why I like him. And I bet that's why a lot of good young players will come to play here, because Pearl is real and not afraid to win.

Of course, if he has a down year or two and too many NegaVols do what they do best, I could see him getting pretty frustrated with that situation ...
