ESPN is doing a special on all top 10 preseason college basketball teams and TN is # 10. Pearl said he thinks the SEC is "up for grabbs". He also said that Florida and Kentucky have proven in the past that if you can win the SEC, you are good enough to win NC. So his goal is to win SEC first, then NC. When speaking of Chris Lofton, he said that its good when your best player on the team is also the hardest worker. He said it rubs off on other players. He said that he did not go to TN/FL football game because he feels like he will no longer be anonymous to UF fans. He said that he would be wearing orange all over his body at the game and would be hard to miss. So he is going to BBQ for the basketball team at his house. He said that the new Pratt Pavilion demonstrates UT commitment to basketball programs for both genders, like Duke and NC. He said they got it because of Pat Summit. When asked about what he thought about competing with Donovan, he said that Donovan raises the bar in the SEC and make SEC look stronger, just like with all of the college football coaches in SEC. He said the trip to Europe helped the guys bond and let them represent U.S. and state of TN. He does not want people to watch the highlight of himself with his shirt off when they are eating dinner. He said they will throw up.
