I'm not a Pearl hater. I'm a lover of my alma mater. And I'm appalled at the state of our athletic department.

I knew we should have never hired Bruce. All he has done is brought our program the most success in the history of the UT basketball.

I love Pearl, but I honestly cannot understand why everyone is rallying behind him and Hambone in the wake of all this trouble for our athletic program. Not that we should be reactionary, but is no one worried about the consequences here?

Blind allegiance and trying to do the *laaalaaalaa i can't hear you* when crisis that are perpetrated by this staff seems a little silly as well. You dont have to be a hater to question what is going on here.

CBP in my opinion is one of the best coaches in the country, but this is a nasty blow to our bball program. He will make it work.

You've been ahead of the curve on all of this Vercy. Discussions you started years ago about the presidency/leadership of the University have a new relevance.

This should seal the deal for Hamilton, but we need some real leadership from the very top down.

It's hard to be surprised that this is what you get when you have an athletic department that essentially operates autonomously from the university. Hamilton's most important boss isn't the UTK chancellor or whatever emtpy suit is currently occupying the UT president's office at any given moment; he basically just reports to Jim Haslam.

I want to win as much as the next guy, but I care about UT's reputation a lot more. The AD who presided over this giant multi-sport shiat sandwich has got to go.

Essentially the reason that I can't fault him for the Fulmer fiasco. That being said, it is time for him to fall on his sword.

Correct. It has nothing to do with style of play etc. Dude freaking effed up big time.

I will still root for UTBB but Pearl has a TON to make up for.

Of course he screwed up...and he's being punished big time. He and his assistants are taking HUGE pay cuts here and self imposing recruiting restrictions that are not light. He screwed up but what else do you want them to do? He is UT Basketball. Without him we are nothing on the hardwood.
