Pearl for Head Football Coach

It makes about as much sense as a lot of other names I've seen thrown out there in the past few days.

Spurrier hates Tennessee because they didn't recruit him out of Johnson City, TN. It worked out better for him playing at Fl because they were a throwing team and Tenn was a running team. He would not have won the Heisman at TN handing the ball off.

And Foomer said he wanted this team to be like the Lady Vols. Great suggestion.:lolabove::lolabove::lolabove:

I dont see how she could do much worse than Fulmer. :)
At least I know the lady vols will be in contention every year. I honsetly wish I could say the same about our football team. :shakehead:

Uhm, no. 1 good year playing bad teams, and barely beating Oklahoma doesn't mean he is good enough of a coach (he's a good coach, from what we have seen so far anyway) to coach here.

Um, yes.

Bruce Pearl won big at Wisconsin-Milwaukee by beating teams in the Horizon League. We still hired him, and that has worked out rather well. Perhaps it was his wins over traditional basketball powerhouses Alabama and Boston College that got him here. Urban Meyer racked up his wins in the MAC and the Mountain West. His Fiesta Bowl win was over a Pittsburgh team that came out of a bad Big East that year. With Chris Peterson, our offense would be WIDE OPEN. Isn't that what everybody complains about...that our offense is too basic and predictable???

Here is Urban's undefeated year at Utah:

Here is Peterson's undefeated year at BSU:

Urban scored more points in some places. Other than that, I think those seasons are rather similar. To be safe, I think we should go back to the search firm that turned up Pearl to make sure no one gets overlooked.

Good post and good research done.
