I really thought about whether I would post a thread about me leaving. There are other servicemembers on this board that do not make a big deal out of leaving and I do not want to seem like an attention whore.

But I have alot of friends on here that I speak with that post regularly and I do not want to leave anyone out of the loop. (So I left a thread instead of PM's)

So having said that....I am leaving (Very soon) to Tikrit, Iraq. I will be going to an Army Base (Irony at it's best huh??) for 6+ months.

For an inside perspective.....it has been very rough on my children ages 6, 3 and 2. Not so much the younger ones but they are beginning to catch on. It is really tough on me as well as you can imagine.

First off:
Thank you Vols!!!! I sat down today at 1230 and said "Maybe my Vols will give me a game to be proud of as it will be my last one I see this season" I love you guys for it.

And:
Let's go BasketVols....hopefully I will be able to see you guys play this year. Go deep and make our men's basketball program proud.

And...:
Go Lady Vols Basketball and bring us an 8th NC! I love to sit down with my daughters and watch a LV game and let their eyes light up with amazement!

In closing, I will leave you with this from the Bible, Isaiah 6:8:

And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? And I said, Here am I; send me.

In short, stop feeling sorry for yourself and dwelling on what is wrong in the world and get on board with what God is doing to make things right.

I'll keep in touch as best as I can. Don't let my Beer thread go, I will miss it. Until next time Volnation:salute:

(And Mods, please delete after a week or so, I will log on and say hello when I can.

And as always.....GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

USAF, while your there, see if anyone over there can play on the offensive line, special teams, or defense!

Nah, but seriously, make it home safe, enjoy yourself the best you can. Thank you for representing the USA, Vol Nation, and most of all, the Tennessee Volunteers!

Godspeed my friend!

Good Luck, and Godspeed

This is going to sound funny, but pack warm clothes

I tried to cut down on weight of what I was packing and didn't take a cold weather parka, and a few other items, and regretted when Feb rolled around.

Thanks for your service
