While the drama known as Modern Politics keeps us distracted, the Republican idiot is SSDD. SJWs, tankers on fire, Conway & Sanders, a pathetic group of Democrat candidates all matter very little.

Since elected officials cant seem to show fiscal responsibility and don't care because of their own interests, what is the next step?

there are only a few ways to resolve this mess as I see it.
1. Elect statesmen/women who work within budgets.
2. Country becomes insolvent and we rebuild the government based on the constitution.
3. States convene a continental congress and vote down the federal largess.
4. Citizens say "no" to every opportunity to spend more and back up the words with votes during elections.

At this point, I don't think any of the above are likely. The likely resolution will be insolvency followed by the two parties blaming each other followed by the politicians rebuild the government with even more centralized (and unconstitutional) power.

There is no way out of a 22 trillion dollar debt.

I'm in favor of a new revolution. Let's overthrow these bastards.

When interest on the debt exceeds GDP, then the fun will begin.

So, eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die.

If any candidate had a decent plan to reduce spending, run a balanced budget, and actually reduce the debt for the first time in almost 70 years......they would likely get my vote. D or R it probably wouldn't matter. Even though either party would work against it because they have a different letter next to their name.

This is the issue that causes me to lose sleep at night.

Obama would have this country out of debt by now, don't you think?

It's the righties always talking fiscal responsibility. The last time they crashed the economy. This time we're heading for record deficits.
