So Spear, Whitehorn, Spencer, Spearman, and Latham were Kellie’s players???

Looks like Kellie coached and developed Missouri pretty well this year…Otherwise, Coach Caldwell’s toxic team would have beaten Missouri by 60…. I wish her well, but she was not the the solution here…. DW took a gamble and most likely failed. Yr 3 will provide that answer…

Kellie went into this season with no All Americans, no point guard due to an ACL in the preseason, and 1 post who was injured during the Tennessee game and only had 7 or 8 active players that game. What would you or anyone expect? We, on the other hand, were loaded with 5 all americans and yet had a 5 25 + point losses and two of them over 40 points. Kellie had both Latham and Whitehorn scheduled for recruiting visits prior to being fired and had also recruited Spencer quite hard out of high school, so there is no telling the players she may have gotten from the portal that year. I do know this though, had Kellie had been coaching this year's team at Tennessee, we wouldn't have won only 16 games and we wouldn't have been first round losers in the NCAA tournament. That im certain of.

Yes, and after TN won big against that short handed Missouri team, TN never won another game for the rest of the year. Interesting how that worked out.

Per Torvik's "game score" feature (which rates a team's performance each game), they had just played a worse game a few weeks prior against Georgetown. And you don't think their double-digit losses the previous season to NC St., UCLA, Texas, Notre Dame, and South Carolina were worse than that? Or don't you think the way we played in that game might've had something to do with them not playing well?

It wasn't just one random game! We were #12 in the NET and 7-9 in Q1 games last year! We made the Sweet 16!

Her biggest hurdle now is the portal. I think any potential players is going to contact the former players to get their take on why they left. I don't think she is going to get a favorable endorsement. It's gonna be difficult to say the least.

In my opinion her system is meant for the underdog. So she may get some 3 stars willing to put out some effort for one more chance and to play for the Lady Vols.
I don't see any high demand players coming here after this show.

Give it up, @th2421! It doesn't matter if they're claiming the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor, negativity is on a roll in these forums and a careful balancing of facts to reach a reasonable conclusion ain't going to happen. Sure things are bad, but dedicated catastrophizing can always both make it worse and paint the scape goats as moral horrors undeserving of the thought that their actions might have been both in good faith and not outlandishly stupid. After all, the goal is catharsis, not clarity or compassion.

Oh , and I'm immune from these regrettable human tendencies. My belief that Geno is the devil wearing a skin suit and joy in his self-assery is nothing but Universal Truth and Righteousness!

the games are played ..... teams can be "on" or "off" to some degree.... but to hang a shingle out as a badge of honor and have it symbolize the goodness or lack of goodness of your team (i.e. comparison to all others on basis of one game) is a mistake.

You're right. I think I need to step away from this forum at least until after transfer portal season is over. It's just way too negative and making me miserable.

We will miss you, but I get it. I think we all just love the program a lot and many of us also love the players who had a bad time this season. Hopefully the body hits will stop soon and we can perhaps get some better news.
