Hud, Cool Hand Luke, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof were my 3 favorite movies of his.

My favorite actor and one of my favorite persons passed away from cancer. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Newman at several races at Nelson Ledges and Mid-Ohio. I even had a couple of Buds with him. A wonderful actor, philanthropist, and a pretty damn good driver. May your prayers join mine for Joanne, his widow and their children in this time of grief.

Simply one of the greats. Few people have ever used their fame better. Paul Newman did all he could to leave the world better than he found it. That's the true measure of the man.

Well put. He not only contributed many millions through his Newman's own brands, but started several cancer centers for children.

Newman was one of the best actors of his generation. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, Cool Hand Luke, and The Hustler were my favorites of his.

You're a fortunate man to have met him......I wish I could have had the opportunity. Paul Newman was truly a class act.

Back in the early seventies, my cousin won a contest in which the winner got to have lunch with Paul Newman. She said he was the nicest man she ever met, and that he had the prettiest blue eyes she had ever seen....

Agree on all points. While he valued privacy, he refused to give autographs, he was a very gregarious, kind, caring person. He had no failure to communicate. He seemed to be happiest in a race car.
