Participation List - Kyle Phillips did not play

My guess is nothing, the defense (after 8:00 in the 2nd quarter) did its job very well. No need to shake things up there when it was the only thing keeping us in the game.

Tuttle did not play and neither did Alexis Johnson, but Mosely did.

Good thing Azanni follows this approach

It should be a no-brainer to most that Butch limited the playbook and held back on the roster for this one...giving VT very little to work with next weekend. It almost backfired on him but.........it didn't. I'm not all that worried that our Vols won't provide another flat performance in Bristol. Let's figure they'll be packing the box; expecting a gimp-armed Dobbs to stick almost entirely to the run game...just to discover they've been set up for a devastating throw game blowing up their D. I hope I'm right. I hope I'm right. I hope and pray I'm right. AMIRIGHT?

I'm wondering if Phillips may be on the outside looking in at DE and may be taking a red shirt unless we start taking injuries? I'm no insider but he's a great kid, great family, and VERY talented player, hard to see him staying off the field unless there's a good reason for it.

I'm sure everyone saw Kongbo played. Don't remember seeing him make any big plays, but at least he didn't make any major screw ups like some of the more experienced guys. But now he knows what it's like to play in front of 100K plus.

He looked a little lost last night, but once again, so did everyone else for most of the game. I noticed him stand out in one big way, and that was effort. He was really trying to make a play, but was just a step or two off. Once Kongbo gets settled in, and knows his assignments better? Let's just say anytime I see him out there, I will be watching for him to make it happen. I believe it's gonna happen now.

VT has plenty of tape on the horrid play of the oline.

i dont understand the thought process of Limited Playbook, They do realize you can watch every game from last year on film, inculding a bowl game... so the not giving them anything to look at is not an excuse.

limiting players i understand , no need to get anyone hurt, but down by 13 its time to pull out all stops.

Thanks for the list. Looks like App played 46 players - not too bad and much better than the 29 that played against UM in '07. Five of the App players who saw action last night were true freshmen including starting LB Clifton Duck.

Very good athlete, he should give you guys a lock down corner. I'm thinking about coming for the UM game.

Wrong. Weak excuse, and thats all it is ... an excuse. This offense is no different than last years. VT already has their game plan
and its not like the braintrust of Jones, Debord, and Azzanni are going to dial up anything new next week. And Dobbs has 2
problems, he can't throw, and he won't throw. He holds the ball too long, depends on his first read, then he's off to the races.
Actually we saw him regress last night, along with the entire offensive staff.

I'm not gonna lie your team looks good. And I mean physically. Your group looked the part. Definitely not group of 5 quality.

I fully expect you guys to beat Miami.

That's more than 2 problems?
