Parking questions for first timer

Hi everyone. We are driving down from Philly as a family for the first time. My daughter is too young to attend the game but my wife wants to bring her to salute to the hill and some wandering campus before the game. We are looking for a spot for her to leave to go back to the hotel once my son and I go into the game. Any recommendations or advice is appreciated. They are okay with walking a little bit if that means she’ll be able to get out of Knoxville and back to Gatlinburg somewhat quickly. Thank you!

A number of municipal garages in downtown are free and offer an easy out to Gatlinburg but they fill up a couple hours before kickoff. Others that are closer to campus charge. From the city's gameday info site:

Langley, Market Square and State Street garages are free. Several other garages cost $20 per car:
Two lots closer to the action are $40 per car:
Parking at the Civic Coliseum is just $10.

Parking meters throughout downtown are $25 for gameday parking. Maps and more info here:
