Parking at UT games with a travel trailer...Best spot?

Pull it on over to campus... you know how gracious UT is toward parking, students, alums, humans in general. Fans are great, the School still hates everyone. Man, I miss Dr. Holt.

There is a cement distribution place on neyland next to the river that has a big gravel lot where I always see RV's and trailers parked on game weekends. I'm guessing they just open it up on the weekend when they are closed so people can park there. I would assume they charge something, but I don't know for sure. You could try there if you are planning on getting here the day before. It's a nice walk to the stadium along the river probably a mile or so, maybe less. Or you can walk through campus, either way you will definitely experience the gameday atmosphere!

Great thread. I might be coming to K-town for a game this year and have never been before. If anyone has any hotels to stay at or things that are a must do for the game/weekend let the yankee know. Thanks.

I have a 1 bedroom 1 1/2 bathroom townhouse apt that I am thinking of renting out to Vol fans only for some of the busier game weekends. Its fully furnished and equipped with washer and dryer. I live about 7 miles from campus, across the street from the West Town Mall.

Edit: Didn't notice your screen name. Hmm, I could probably allow fans of another school. Just don't want my place to be trashed in celebration or in sorrow

Also, If i remember correctly isn't the Ag campus a long way from the stadium? Is there a shuttle or something to take us back and forth?

Bout a 30 min walk to the stadium side of the campus.

Usually they have shuttles running from the ag for events (I know they did for graduation), but IDK if they do it for football games.

I would assume they do, but I cannot confirm.

The ag campus isn't that bad of a walk with the bridge there now. Not sure of exact distance or time but I've done it. I was drinking before the walk, during the walk, and after the walk so it could have skewed my perception

Yeah, freshman year I had a class on the ag campus, and before I realized I could take the T down there, I walked. It was about 25 mins walking pretty briskly (from Greve hall).

So, I would put it at ~30 mins to neyland.

I lived in Greve as well but I never ever had a class over there on the ag campus. They finished the bridge while I was in school but I didn't make my first visit to the ag campus until a few years after my undergrad. Almost a different planet it seems

Well we were hoping to find something with in walking distance if possible. We want to tailgate and experience all the UT pre game activities.

There is an RV lot that I've parked in before within walking distance . . . it's on Neyland Drive approximately 3/4 mile from stadium, on the river, near/in what I believe is a cement plant. Cost me $45 for the entire weekend. We will probably RV to UGA game and park there again.

Finally, something i know something about on this forum.
The AG Campus is one of three places to park motorhomes during game day. It is the only one that visitors seem to be able to get passes into. Dont even ask what UT prices their "RV Park" located next to the sewer plant for, its unimaginable. The Ag campus is a lot more fun and friendly to visitors as well. You need to contact the UT sports department now and get a temp parking pass for the vehicle. Tell them you want Ag campus MOTORHOME parking, nor just a car pass. When you get the pass email me for driving directions getting in there.
Once there come and see us. We were the official tailgators of the year last year and have a lot of fun. You can access that parking lot starting on Friday night at 5 and stay until Sunday and the parties are great. The shuttles take you straight to the game and there are plenty of them. After the game they pick you up on the sidewalk at the hill, minor wait time.
The name of the motorhome group for UT is the UT Calvary. Feel free to come in and talk football. Drinks are usually not optional.

Stone/gravel lot. $5-10 per car. Walking distance. I'd think if you got there in the early am and took some cash and a case of bud, you'd be satisfied.
