I don't understand why we would enter a tournament that can be seen on some nondescript lower tier sports channel or online just to have a chance to play one good team in Purdue.

Sorry, but playing ECU, NIU/DePaul, and *possibly* Purdue is not worth the price of not being seen at all.

That's a piss poor job by Pearl.

Hopefully we make it to the championship, because I will not pay $8 to watch it online.

Wow I didn't even know that. Solid job Pearl. What an idiotic idea. I'd just as soon rather our players go home and have a nice Thanksgiving dinner than play in this awful tournament.

Yeah, because it's not like Northern Iowa was in the NCAA Tournament last year, returns every significant player, and is a Top 25-30 team. Oh, wait.

Do the coaches even know the entire field definitively when they sign up for the tournament?

I'm well aware of the fact that NIU was decent and they've pulled off some upsets in the past two years, but is an untelevised tournament really worth it? I don't think so.

Yeah, I bet the players hate being in the Virgin Islands. I'm sure they'd rather be in Knoxville preparing to play UNC-Greensboro or Stetson Friday at TBA.

I'm sure they'll enjoy the vacation just fine. I just don't know about a tournament that can't get itself broadcasted on basic cable channel.

Some of you are not up on college basketball. Northern Iowa our possible 2nd round opponent went to the NCAA tournament last year and is picked to finish 1st in the Missouri Valley conference which plays good basketball. We could meet Purdue in the championship and they are a top 10 team and ranked higher than us. Some are picking them to be in the final four.
