not knocking you at all but sometime take the fam or just the wife to Heavenly. Great skiing and gambling as well. You got to ski the west at least once my man. But never the less, have a blast skiing. I hope you get tons of snow.

Won't be going this year. Unless I get a business trip to Germany again before March. Doubtful. The snow in the Alps is good right now but not great. Beer and family obligations got in the way on a day trip to the Alps. Oh well, drinking German beer with my father-in-law is a good second place.

After one trip to Heavenly....I stopped local skiing. Mostly because two of us could go out with nice accomodations and ski for 5 days for less than 3 grand. When deciding it would cost at least 1800 to go to Snowshoe it was a no brainer.

Good luck with the snow UT. I hope you and the fam have a blast.

Would love to. Skiing, beer and orange always go good together.

The locals go up to Seven Springs around this area. I heard that Holiday Valley is nice in New York.

I go to Tahoe every year. The skiing there is as good as anywhere out West including ANYHWHERE in Colorado. The great thing about South Lake Tahoe, CA/Stateline,NV is you can catch a shuttle and go down to Sierra or Kirkwood for the day if you are tired of skiing Heavenly. Or you can take the bus up to Squaw Valley for the day.

Actually my favorite ski areas around Tahoe are Kirkwood and Alpine Meadows. Great slopes, great snow, no beginners and most importantly, no lift lines

Skied there several years ago. Was there right after a big storm. Snow was in great condition, but quite frankly, nothing in the East compares to anything out West. The best Eastern skiing is either at Sugarbush, VT or Stowe, VT. I have heard Killington is good too. Snowshoe is good right now because they have gotten a ton of snow there this year. Bad thing about Snowshoe, though, is the fact it can rain just as easily. I have been there when we literally had close to a blizzard for the better part of two days and then two days later it rained..our last day there.

You don't ever have to worry about having enough snow or surface conditions in the Sierra Nevadas during Winter. It is either powder or packed powder. Something hyou rarely see on Eastern slopes (packed power right after a storm but quickly turning to packed ice)
