Hail to the KINGS

Been to more Metal shows and festivals in my life than I could ever remember. Been in some brutal Pits and anyone who has ever caught Lamb of God or Hatebreed show knows what Im talking about. Nothing compares to the Pits Pantera had on their TrendKill tour. Only time I ever thought I might die was at a show they did in Little Rock.

True Metal Gods. The Cowboys from Hell will always be the Kings of Brutality.

Pantera is an awesome band and still relevant today. You can hear their influence on so many bands that are out today.

Met Dimebag and Vinnie backstage at Oak Mountain in B'ham. Real down to earth cool dudes. Took shots of Jack and BS'd with the fans. Phil was a no show as was the entire band for White Zombie.

Phil Anselmo crying about Dimebag's death - YouTube

I know Phil was an A*shole at the end and was the reason Pantera died, but I do believe he was sincere in this video.

He has said since that he was a Junkie back then and did what Junkies do to the ones they love. I know Vinnie will never have anything to do with him again and thats understandable.

No doubt in my mind though that he loved Dime. They made some of the best Best Metal the world will ever see. Glad I can say I saw the Cowboys from Hell live 4 times.

Tre I never met Dime Vinnie or Phil but I did get to meet Rex at a Little Rock Wafflehouse after a show. He was really laid back and friendly. He let me sit next to him and he even ordered me what he was eating lol. Smothered Covered Chopped Diced. LOL destroyed my stomach but totally worth it. I asked where they were and he said Phil and Vinnie is porking and Dime is pissing off the crew with Black Cats lol.

No doubt Phil looked trashed everytime I saw them but once he got a song or two in the set he always layed it down.

Great band. Sad connotation though when hearing a song by them nowadays per the way too early death of dimebag. Tremendous guitarists.

Definitely one of the most inventive thrash bands.
