SIAP, but I couldn't find a thread for this. I'd like to let everyone know that's responsible for painting the rock how much it is appreciated. I think most (if not all) people that are doing this are students that likely don't have a tremendous amount of extra cash. We all know that paint isn't cheap and I figure you could probably use a little subsidy.

As far as I know this isn't an organized effort. Basically, it looks like whoever is willing to paint the rock has done it out of their own pocket. I would be glad to contribute a few $ to help out these people that are giving of their time and money to help our recruiting in this way. Is there someone on the board that would like to be responsible for accepting donations and giving the money to those willing to do the work, or possibly buying the paint and giving the paint to the "artist", whichever seems to work better.

I live in Nashville and since I can't help painting in person, I'd like to help in this way if idea works out. If this plan violates some obscure NCAA rule, please kill this thread.

Is this idea plausible at all?

I don't know how plausible that is, but I will throw out this tip to those of you that may paint the rock in the future. Go to a local paint shop (Sherwin Williams for example) and ask them if they have any mistints. If they do, you can look through them and maybe find a color close to what your looking for. Its the easiest way to get paint half off.

I'll paint whatever you want on the rock, if it pays cash monies.

That being said, wouldn't this qualify as some sort of "booster" activity?

I walked by it for the first time today since it has been moved. It's strange to see it there.

Oh, and apparently someone named Nick is 19.

I understand the drinking and thrill of painting(I've done it many a night) but lord knows I'd take some cash. If anything just pay for my beer and then ill paint the rock. Since its beer that is being drank away from the activity it won't break NCAA rules. Just let me know where to pick up the money and ill start drinking

I would like for someone to update the VOLNATION with a picture of the rock. What is on it now?

I walked by it yesterday afternoon, and there were birthday wishes for someone on it, surrounded by the checkerboard. I didn't take a pic because I didn't think people will care. I'm moving to campus next week and my ROTC classes are right by the rock so I'll be posting some.
