So I looked into the numbers for UT and the cost of attendance is about $30k and the cost of tuition and fees is about $12k. If a football lives off campus minus a meal plan, they would receive about $15k or so in reimbursment from the bursar's office. Now football also has that cost of living stipend,which is another $8k. So a UT football player probably banks around 23k per year untaxed. Not to mention part of those fees cover a health insurance plan. In all, considering taxes and cost of living in Cali, I would say a UT athlete might make $10k more per year if they chose to play in the PPFL.
