It’s not about Covid anymore. It’s literally because they know the top recruits will only commit to the top schools and won’t go to see anyone else (because they can’t). This is widening the gap, and they want it. It screws over schools like us specifically because of the new staff

How does this approach add excitement to the sport? The top of college football, for the better part of 10 years, has been quite boring. Predictability and redundancy will eventually lead to fan apathy and monetary loss.

Who’s standing in line to watch Alabama/Clemson (again) this year? At some point, the cycle must be broken for the game to thrive.

For every Trey Smith, there are multiple Richmonds that don’t work out. Give me a guy with the right frame, the right attitude, and some good coaching.

Agreed. This staff must excel in identifying under-the-radar talent, which can be developed within the context of their system. I used to put much value in star-ratings; however, Tennessee underdevelops both high & low stars alike (in recent past).

We need hungry kids with high potential.. And we need them developed properly. Let’s chart our own identity within the league, get our house in order, and the high profile guys will want to be a part of it.

Matt Campbell can find guys that play, and he doesn’t care at all about rankings. And he wins.

The visits for Brubaker started at Stanford, which has emerged as a real contender, and last weekend the four-star offensive lineman was at Penn State, a significant player for so many reasons. He’s an in-state prospect, a legacy prospect and the Nittany Lions are definitely high on the list.
What Brubaker loved about his visit was the dedication the coaches showed to the visitors and the summer camps going on and just how everyone is on the same page from the strength department on up.
He will still visit Vanderbilt, Tennessee and South Carolina but Penn State has to like its chances.
