Just my thoughts and opinion of course but i think Texas and LSU are overrated coming into the season and A&M and Tennessee are underrated. People are definitely sleeping on us and have slid us back to the pack after Nico leaving. I think we will definitely compete for a playoff spot again i got the Vols at 10-2 or 9-3 this season. Our defense will be as good or close to it as last season. Yea the big question is the QB but i have faith that we won’t miss Nico that much. I’ve seen some preseason publications and gurus picking us as low as 12th in the SEC this season that’s crazy to me no way do we finish that low. The floor is 8-4 at the very worst. Go Vols!!!
South Carolina as a program is barely above .500 all-time (644-616-44). They'd consider a coach who won at that clip there to be a god. Not even Spurrier approached that when he was there.Brian Kelley is 29-11 at LSU.
72% winning percentage.
That’s a secure winning percentage if you’re South Carolina or Arkansas. But LSU has
Won 3 National Championships since we won our last in 1998. They’re expectations are to compete and Brian Kelley hasn’t done that with them despite talent being there.
Aguilar has not yet won the starting position. In fact, I think he missed his first 5 targets in today's practice.I think Bama is overrated. Many are taking for granted that Deboar is going to get the team rolling again, but I don't see it. Ty Simpson is trash. And as good of an offensive mind Deboar may have been, he has never had a really good run game. He has had his success through the air. And without a good QB, I don't see the offense doing that well.
Texas is overrated, but still a good team with an easy schedule. So they will still have a good record and make the CFP, but don't consider them serious contenders. Arch will need a year to acclimate. He will be serviceable, but not a guy to carry you to a championship in year 1.
I would have said OU is underrated, but many seem to have jumped on the bandwagon since.
I also do think we are underrated, as everyone is counting out our potential with Nico leaving. I actually think Aguilar could be a great fit in Heupel's offense and average over 250+ yards passing per game.
He's the starter. He was paid good money to come here, not to sit. He is the only QB on the roster who has averaged 275+ passing yards per game the last 2 seasons in college. I'm not concerned with him missing some passes in practice. Some were on the receivers as well.Aguilar has not yet won the starting position. Thank you coach. He's the starter. He was paid good money to come here, not to sit. He is the only QB on the roster who has averaged 275+ passing yards per game the last 2 seasons in college. I'm not concerned with him missing some passes in practice. Some were on the receivers as well.
Merklinger looked abysmal in the Orange & White game and as much potential G-Mac has they are not throwing him in as starter as a freshman. He needs more time in the weight room.
