Outback Game Observations

I'm glad we won but I hope we can get a least this one thing straightened out next year. That is being able to put points on the board the second half. It seemed like all year long we could put up about 21-28 points in the first half and then just a few or none in the second half. This was really shown in the South Carolina game. All season long it seemed like the other teams would make corrections at halftime and we would not or could not. This is the one thing I hope we can correct next year.

from my perspective in my section:

We were grossly outnumbered in fans. My wife noticed it too. We were on the SEC side and surrounded by Badger fans.

WI was slow, but their D line pushed us around too much.

And yes, there are a ton of snowbirds down here right now. I hate winter in Florida (if you can call it that).

From where I was sitting at the game it seemed we were slightly outnumbered. Even if we had twice as many fans as they did they were much louder. That "student section" down in the end zone was crazy. At times it seemed as if I was the only UT fan standing up...

I agree. Their band was amazing too. After their halftime performance some of them stayed on the sidelines to play. It just seemed like total enjoyment and total cheer by them. Definately heard them more than the UT band or our fans.

Me too. While there were still alot of Tennessee fans, I think there was a small percentage more than us.

Oh and speaking of the noise and their fans, I also noticed that when the speaker system played that "jump jump" song, all of their fans, band, etc. were all jumping, while Tenn fans were just standing or sitting. I felt like we were the boring group.

the "jump around" bit is their thing that they always do in between 3rd & 4th quarters

Well I still think that makes us look a little boring compared to all of their excitement. But of course a win is a little more excitement than just the cheering fun.

All I know is that I heard the band playing and the fans singing "Rocky Top" very loudly on TV more than once...and the commentators commenting on how often they'd heard it.

God, I love it when "Rocky Top" unhinges people!

Why the hell did they put Jones in when Ainge drove the field?

I was wondering the same. I was also wondering why we were trying to set up for a better field goal angle instead of going for the TD, at least that was what it looked like.

I noticed some very hot Wisconsin chicks---surprising, since someone told me most of the women up there were fat.

I was in one of the 4 corners, closer to the Wiscon. band which is probably why I heard them over the Tenn band because they were always playing, but even the Tenn fans around me were not singing along to Rocky Top as we just couldn't hear it, we knew they were playing, but thats about it.

Nothin better than chicks that know how to talk football. My girl can talk it to.
FV, are you trying to get laid or something? Otherwise, stop with the absurdity. Nobody wants to talk football with a chick.

Oh and you know one other crazy thing. I go to enter the stadium with my purse and my orange and white pompom/shaker thing; The guy checking said everything was fine except for that, I could not take it in as it was a pointed stick and it could be used as a weapon.:angry::dunno:

We weren't outnumbered 10-1. We were outnumbered though. And yes, the Wisconsin women seemed to lover their beer and brats.

Rip the stick off of it and then put the pompom on your head with a hat and you have a wig!

That'll show 'em :)

He had your picture and instructions not to let you in the stadium. You're lucky he only took your pom poms. :p

But seriously, the same thing happened to me last year.

Yeah i figure the guy was just letting less orange and white in because I saw others with theirs, but they had the flat sticks vs my round stick that can poke someones else out.
