Tennessee ran at least 7 or 8 plays out of the I formation against Northwestern. All for solid, positive gains. Will we see some of those this week?

This week the whole play book will open up. You will see the I formation, jet sweeps, Dobbs running it alot, and the triple option where the wide receiver is in motion

I sure as hell hope you are correct sir. It is just absurd to not use a 140# back as a down hill runner. Would love to use a fullback or h-back. Jacob Johnson comes to mind for this situation.

Butch will open up the playbook against Florida like he did last year. Hopefully it's enough to keep the Florida defense from feasting.

I wouldnt bank on it. I'd say some Hurd and Kamara together though might be sprinkled in on a couple plays.

That's a good point on the jet sweep. We haven't even seen it yet that I can remember. We ran it so damn much last year that I could tell it was coming from the formation and motion.

And that little quick out pattern by the slot back I think? WR would run a short pick and slot would curl out? That play was money, 5+ yards each time we ran it

Been calling it all offseason. Mad that they waited for the Florida game. We're not going to FOOL those dudes...shoulda been mixing it with the spread in a full attack preparing to make it not matter. When you see Jakob Johnson enter, you'll know it's in play. They'll use Hurd in the spread also and he will be more effective when they can't jail break on him...and when he's running in a straight line with a full head of steam? :yahoo: I think we got a taste of Kelly because he and Kamara will do more of the heavy lifting in the spread set. If I'm in left field on this, I'll stop torturing Catbone. :)

When they ran the I formation during the bowl game, who lined up in the fullback position? I remember watching it, but I honestly don't remember.

Thats the feeling I have and if true its still a crock of sh!t from this coaching staff. Wanna be champions? Then you play every game like champions...not like milquetoast wallflowers clutching your diary..

Offset I with a H-back. Alex Ellis in that game. In this one it'll be Jakob Johnson IMO.

It worked well, played to Hurd's strengths and skillset, and would give Florida a look they're likely not expecting to see.

So, no, we won't see it.

I think they'll prepare for it. It won't be a surprise. Execution of it will be the X factor.
