I always thought Elijah was from Nashville (P-C Firebird)... but lists Memphis as his hometown.

That's one good thing potato head did was recruit Memphis better.

Elijah Simmons is from Memphis but played for Pearl in Nashville?

Thirteen - Jabari Small, Tamarion McDonald, Bryson Eason, Omari Thomas, Cameron Miller, Hunter Barnes, Jerrod Gentry, Bennett Brady, Ben Bolton, Isaac Green, Jerome Carvin, and Elijah Simmons (yes, he lists Memphis on the team roster; his choice). Jeremy Banks is, too, though he lists his home town specifically as Cordova (that's basically a suburb of Memphis, right?).

That's not counting fellows like Connor Meadows and Malik Ganaway, who are from Trenton, just north of Jackson. Or Camron Douglas, from Brownsville. Or JT Carver, from Martin. All from West Tennessee, though not specifically Memphis.

So altogether, about 17 from West Tennessee.

You may have noticed, not all these lads are on scholarship. Probably about two-thirds, one-third, I'd say without researching it.

Over here in the western part of the state many of our brothers of color have for the most of my lifetime when asked where do you live respond: "I stays with my grandmother (or other family or friend)" Only in the past very few years have you been able to get a straight answer to this question. I mean no disrespect, over my lifetime I have come to ask "where do you stay" if I feel it is best.
