Our QB and RBs have to be smiling so big ...

I was making a harmless joke. I know he hasn't thrown that many interceptions.

I'm actually one of the few JG supporters on this board. Most people have a severe disdain for him and have already crowned Bailey. He's clearly not an elite QB but I do appreciate and admire what JG managed to do against adversity last season after a rough start. I also think, IMO, he will be the starter next year too. Again, a minority opinion.
I don't have a severe disdain for JG or have I crowned Bailey the starter. But I would prefer the starting Tennessee QB to perform / execute on the field of play. Run the play that is called if possible. Learn to read a defense and not to lock on or throw late to a receiver over and over again and maybe just maybe make a play with his legs once and a while. I don't care which one of the five quarterbacks that the Vols have that can do that is on the field. I don't think that's is to much to ask for a starting D1 QB. Btw with the speed that Holiday has it will be hard to keep him off the field. Just my two cents.

Agreed. This line is going to give JG so much time to throw next season. Let's hope he can capitalize on it.
Im hoping we just go ahead and break in HB. This is the perfect situation for him considering most of our league will be doing the same and he will actually have an oline to protect him

I think Trey would pancake some of you the way you bash his friend JG.

It's not bashing. It's just the truth. His God-given abilities will not take this team where we all want it to go. It's that simple. Doesn't mean he's not a fine young man. Doesn't mean I don't appreciate him giving his all for Tennessee. It's just with JG behind center, our offense is knee-capped. You have about a 25 point scoring ceiling with him because he just has too many deficiencies for the rest of the team to overcome.

It is bashing, and literally every thread most of the same people are doing it.. it just gets old. Hes probably going to start at QB next year, get over it. Hopefully he can improve his timing and awareness.

So those who are blind to JG keep pushing their opinion... and that's OK. But someone expresses a different opinion and it isn't?

I have nothing against him. I wish he didn't have the fatal flaws it appears he has. He's as tough as they come. He's learned to manage the O. Someone else posted correctly earlier today that JG's pre-snap reads have improved. But the announcer of the IU game noted several times that JG was "late". Then he said he has to "see it" before he throws. He's been that way since he arrived. It causes him to hold the ball too long, miss open throws, and allows defenders to close even when he chooses the right target.

IU isn't a good D. Their D belongs in the MAC. But they game planned JG perfectly. He can't move the ball against teams that do.

^case in point, the same posters..
Case in point... you don't want to hear the truth. I like the kid fine. But he's had 3 years now and hasn't overcome some flaws that are costing UT games. In 3 years, no O led by JG has scored more than 30 points in a game. "Good" 4th year QB's are leading O's with less talent that average over 30 ppg.

I don't think he's a great QB either.. But he's probably our QB next year, literally every thread you guys bash him saying the same things. We all know he needs to improve and what he needs to work on at this point.. Trust me you guys say it in EVERY thread, even threads not related to JG at all..

If JG starts then you can expect us to win 7 or 8 games next year.

It's been my opinion for awhile that Bailey redshirts. I think he'll play 4 games to get some experience and then shut it down. If he is the real deal, then I'll be pleasantly surprised. But I just can't see a true freshmen starting here next year. It doesn't happen many places often.

It's been a LONG time since that has happened at QB for Tennessee. I'm talking starting an entire season and being the guy. Not playing a handful of series as a true freshmen .
I think the best QB plays. Who that is, we'll have to wait and see. If Bailey can win games, he'll play. JMO

And literally, every thread there are defenders. If you don't like the discussion then do what I've done many times over the past 13 years... don't read them.

We all know he needs to improve and what he needs to work on at this point..
Some apparently don't.

Trust me you guys say it in EVERY thread, even threads not related to JG at all..
Again, don't read.... or at least don't read the half that you don't like. If the rest of us want to discuss UT's QB situation, what's that to you?

You do realize that you are arguing this in a thread where like the third post a JG supporter brought up JG, right?

It's possible with a dominant OL, a good stable of RBs, and a solid D to keep us in games. If Fromm can game manage as a true freshman, surely Bailey can.

And I'm not saying Bailey should automatically start over JG. I trust Pruitt and Chaney to sort that all out and I'll support whoever is on the field.

JG is gonna kill it next year! He's going to light the scoreboard up for the other team. More picks. Bank on it.
