Our potential QB with Heupel

I think Bailey may seem to be the favorite to start, but there could be a legitimate case made for any of our 4 guys to start. If Bailey is the guy he will have to get a lot better at his downfield accuracy since we will be throwing the deep ball on the regular in this offense.

Maurer may be a dark horse but I think in the end Bailey starts. Reason is if you look at Heupel system it is based around throwing the football and throwing it about 35 to 40 times a game. You also have to look at the stat about Hooker where he is only attempted 25 passes 5 times in his career and when he does throw that many times his teams record is not that good. I just think when you look at where the 4 QB are that with the right coaching and development Bailey has the chance to be the clear front runner at this time unless one of the others just shows something that not been seen before.

Good article. I think the thing that I have heard Heupel say multiple times that really makes me feel very good about him here is that "you fit your offense to your personnel, and you put them in positions to do what they do well."

THAT is what Pruitt or Butch never did. Not doing that is how you waste a Alvin Kamara.

Obviously Bailey has a great arm and is a good QB. Hooker is not as much of a passer, but can get it done with his legs. Salter looks to be the whole package, but is young and a freshman.

I think all three bring some great things to the table. And I think JH will use their skill sets well. I'm going to be interested to see what Spring Practice looks like, AND what Bailey and Salter look like with a full Spring Practice and summer conditioning under their belt.

Feels really weird, but I think we're actually in good shape at QB. Not sure who will be starter, but QB room of Bailey, Salter, Maurer, and Hooker is pretty strong.

I'm worried more about the running game next year. Both Chandler and Gray would've fit very well in Heupel's offense, but both are now gone. I don't know that any of the other Pruitt RBs are going to be a great fit. Hope I'm wrong, but suddenly feel like RB is a huge weakness.
