Our New Defense

I think a new coach will suit him. Also he is the type of athlete that would do good in this scheme. The coaching staff will make the light come on in Donald's kitchen. Look at what Saban has done with Hightower and McClain.

How is that anywhere near the same situation. I did not know that Hightower spent two years stuggling to see the field before Saban took over. Oh wait, he didnt. He was a serious player from the day he stepped on campus. Truth: recruiting services were off in their evaluation of those two players. Hightower was a much better LB coming out of HS than Donald. But yeah, we could just blame Donald's lack of production on the poor coaching staff. I mean the past defensive staff had no reputation for preparing LB's???

Anyone saying Chris Donald will be a flop is ignorant. It isn't his fault these recruiting services rated him so high even though he played in a really weak region/division. He had a steep learning curve from HS and will be a rSoph next season. He will be great and everyone is starting on an even playing field now that Kiffin is here. We will have one of the best defensive staffs in the country. I'm pretty sure these guys can teach him the schemes he needs to know to succeed.

I watched Donald play at Hunington a couple of times in HS. The guy was an amazing talent but, he was a man among boys. He WILL be a special player at UT when its all said and done though.

Good luck Chris!

Savion Frazier will be a playmaker for us. He was a sleeper out of HS. I'm excited to see what he can do next year.

Askew could very well get some playing time next year and may even start like lockdown said, if Donald doesn't pick up the system quick enough. LB is a big concern for next year. We have Rico, Frazier, Reveiz, and Lamarcus Thompson that have played. We will need some young guys to step up.

The Tampa 2 is known for taking middle linebackers nobody's heard of and making them look good. See: Cato June and Freddy Keaho in Indy.

And strong safety as well. Eric Berry could be the next Lynch or Bob Sanders, but with the potential to be even better I think.

I'm just saying if a guy thinks he has a shot at playing he will bring at all times. I know that's not the right thing to do but players do have attitudes like that.

Lockdown is correct. See the movie Rudy for an example.

Not a good example. Sarcasm at its best.

I was just giving an example of how the guys are going to be prove theirself like Rudy did. He wanted on the field more than anyone on that team and proved it.

I was saying a player will not give it his all if he thinks he doesn't have a shot at starting. Thats how some players think. They should never think that way but it happens. Hope Donald goes hard and proves a lot of you guys that doubt him wrong. He has tremendous potential as a playmaker for our defense.

Granted . . . I'm just saying don't look out on the field next year and expect to see something all that exotic looking.

By exotic do you mean successful? Because il i want is consistent pressure on the QB and better play out of our LB's.
