The defense if it gets the scheme down will be dominant.

DEs- Martin and Walker will be sack monsters

DT- Dan Williams will be a focal point.

MLB- Chris Donald should flourish in the new system.

WLB- Rico McCoy should flourish in the new system.

SLB- Don't know who the starter will be.

SS- Eric Berry wow. Think about Berry playing the John Lynch role of Kiffin's defense.

FS- Demetrice Morley. If not he doesn't improve in coverage Prentiss Waggner will gladly start and flourish in the centerfield role.

CB- Rogan has Tampa 2 written all over him. Brent Vinson better get it together off the field or we'll be starting Waggner in his place.

Williams and McCoy might bolt for the league...

Donald hasn't proven he's anything more than a flop based on how highly he was rated out of highschool....

And you always have to worry whether or not Morley and Vinson will make it to next season without getting kicked off the team...

Other than that...it should be a great D next year

I wouldn't count on Donald. He was a good HS player, but what has he done lately?

I think McCoy may bolt for the NFL.....I hope not though

I think he needs to show a lot more game than he showed this year. He needs to have a breakout/impact year to be a serious draft day option. He should come back.

Lets hope with old school Monte and new school CLK, we can convince these guys that they have a chance to play under one of the greatest defensive minds in the GAME. Monte is a legend, and he will be our DC. If that doesn't make you smile and be optimistic, i don't know what will. Go Vols!!!!!!!!

Any defensive recruit that would not want to play for Monte Kiffin has to be living in a cave. He is the surest ticket to the NFL.

I think that our D is the least of our problems. Room for improvement, yes, always. However, being in the top 10 defenses in the country gives us some breathing room to focus on turning our abysmal offense around.

I'm not suggesting that its a problem I'm just looking at the potential.

I will wait and see before I start saying players who havent done squat are all the sudden going to flourish.

I think a new coach will suit him. Also he is the type of athlete that would do good in this scheme. The coaching staff will make the light come on in Donald's kitchen. Look at what Saban has done with Hightower and McClain.

Something similar to this "new scheme" has been run at various times over the past couple of years. A ton of teams run versions of "Tampa 2".

If anyone is going to flourish, I think it'll be Gerald Williams. With Wilson gone, the middle is his for the taking. Of course they may elect to keep him at end. He never got on track this year, so I'm hoping for a big splash from him next season.

That's the same thing I was thinking!!! The man can lay the wood and would be a big fast MLB that we havent had in quite some time!!!

Which are we gonna call the defense? I figured Tampa 2 since that's how everyone knows it, but you never know.
