Both hosts picked Tennessee out of the East citing Ainge's experience and Coker in the backfield. This is a heavy Carolina program, and one of the hosts is the voice of the Gamecocks (baseball and basketball). Just thought that would be of interest over here.

UT should be the popular pick... FLA replaces too much, GA has ALOT of unproven players and SC just isnt at the talent level quite yet...

Having said that, I personally think it's a crapshoot, and any of the 4 could win the division with 2 or 3 conference losses.

UGA and UF have alot of replacing to do. UK and VU will be dangerous but only game to game, not over a season. USC is the darkhorse. If Mitchell comes to play, they will challenge.

As it was in 2005?

Difference here, though. Our QB isn't a true sophomore coming off of a major injury. We also have a different OC and we aren't top 5 across the board with NC talk.

This is expected based on the way we played USC in the second half and had total control of the game. South Carolina saw us at our best so needless to say they are going to rank us highly.

When is the talent level going to get there? The 'Ol Ball Coach should have had his best three class by now - based on the hype he had of returning the college game. Kids now see it's still the same 'ol 5-7 loss a year USC team with a coach that bombed in the NFL. Recruiting is only getting harder for Stevie, not easier.

If this is the case, Cal, Georgia, Marshall, Memphis, and Vandy will all say the same thing.

Keep dreaming. Spurrier's latest class was probably the best one USC has ever had. Also know that some of the best offensive minds the NFL has ever seen have failed in Washington lately. It's just a crappy organization.

Interesting I was listening to a Little Rock show that was broadcasting from SEC Media , and they had a former ND coach on (didn't catch the name) and he picked Tennessee 4th in the East.. He had
SEC East
1. SC
2. Florida
3. Georgia
4. Tennessee

Then in the West
1. LSU
2 Auburn
3. Arkansas

He's recruiting some real winners,,
His highly touted QB, was caught and charged with keying a professors car in a dispute over a parking space.

Tennessee has its fair of replacing too, our whore recieving corps, lost our best lineman on a mediocre line, lost our best two D-lineman in McBride, and Harrell, and we lost 3 of our 4 secondary guys.

Could that former ND coach have been Granny Clampett? Used to be a SC coach and doesn't care for the Vols much... :focus:

I may be dreaming but their "heisman" player last year was Sidney Rice? I'll believe it when I see it, but so far SC hasn't proven anything - ever. I'm not buying the SOS hype.

I'm buying the SC hype. They return a lot from a pretty decent team. They'll be a force. They may contend for the East.

This will be the most talented team that the Cocks have put on the field in Spurriers tenure. Stevie knows it. He is beginning his championship talk.

BTW, Spurrier doesn't sell hype. Pub that he gets is completely legitimate, and in no way should be considered undeserved or overplayed. He is still the best coach in the SEC.

The problem this year for SC is that they have a good defense, but no O-Line, and bad QB play. Spurrier is upgrading the talent there, but will all the pieces ever come together? Will SC actually get a winning attitude, or will they still feel like the losers they currently are?
