Our last 2 plays sum it up

I wondered about that last play. Watching it live, I thought we'd jumped on that one too

We did. The officials probably gave us some pity. Like, they were sick of throwing the flag, we weren’t going to win anyway.

It’s just as bad if not worse on the defensive side of the ball. Our interior defensive line was dominated. I didn’t see a single play in the second half that they didn’t get pushed back

I cant blame Tatum for that one. JG held the ball long enough to complete a graduate degree back there. Michael Oher in his prime couldn't hold a DL off that long.

I didn't put it all on him either. I said JG has got to feel that pressure and do something.

Don't like seeing an o lineman on the ground in pass protection against a 3 man rush either though.

No excuse for the penalties. Just pointing out that other teams are doing the same, and at a higher rate

If they were defensive penalties from being aggressive I wouldn't mind.

Last night they emptied a clip in their feet from shooting themselves with stupid mistakes.

This coach, NO coach, can "play" the game. I know, these things can be taught in practice. Well maybe, but when guards that are 4'+/- from the ball to be snapped and they can't get it right, what can a coach do but take them out of the game? Coaches can teach until they are blue in the face, but if the student CAN'T learn,,, then you have a big problem that only time and better player evaluation during recruiting can cure. Time is the answer. However we (fans) just don't seem to have any to allow for change.

Time is relative, just like expectations. I don't expect to be competing for the conference title in Pruitt's first season. But some of this really fundamental stuff? Yeah, it's troubling that we continue to make these kinds of mistakes after 8 games with a coach who is supposed to be The One.

As fans, we don't really have any other choice but to be patient. But I don't buy the excuse that the players can't learn. These guys have been playing football their whole lives and most of them were highly recruited by many other schools. Some of what we're seeing 8 games in is just inexcusable, IMO.

Im telling you guys and gals ..CJP hired his buddy as a OL coach from Colorado St ( wow) ... listen I realize that we are short some lineman but but there are some talent .. Marcus Tatum was no slouch , Trey Smith before he was hurt ..Ryan Johnsoin, Carvin , Locklear .. Richmond ..you have to coach them up ... and my goodness the undicipline .... how many false starts ..thats just dicipline and coaching ........ his buddy hiring may get him fired ..we have seen it before ...
After the atrocious OL play into eight games, Friend has become our enemy.

Biggest problem I see is that we are 8 games into Pruitt's tenure and we still can't line up right and snap the ball. We still can't tackle and we are undisciplined, committing stupid penalties for no apparent reason.

I don't have any facts to back up what I'm gonna say about this but has anyone considered that some of these penalties may be deliberate? Pruitt has constantly bemoaned the bad play from a number of our guys after almost every game. He hasn't benched anyone yet so maybe the guys are getting tired of hearing him talk bad about them. It's just a thought and I'm sure it's happened in the past when a new staff arrives. Taggert said some of his guys quit in their game with Clemson yesterday. I could see some guys getting deliberate penalties if they are pissed at Pruitt and know they aren't gonna be on this team next year.

3rd and 5-
We run what appears to be a RPO. Richmond is beat and Chandler chips him (rather than a strong block). JG looks right the whole way and missed Jennings wide open in the slot. JG reloads and we eventually have multiple lineman downfield more than 5 yards. That’s a sign he’s holding onto the ball entirely too long.

4th down-
False start, followed by another that should’ve been called. Then we get beat on a 3 man pass rush. We have too many OL who are simply not SEC players at this time.

With the way they were playing back all night and especially dropping 8, thought they should have gone to a screen or short pass to Calloway or Chandler and hope they can break a tackle or two.
That would be nice, but; aside from JJ, most players trying to get a yard or two seem to stop dead in their tracks short of the sticks and start going sideways or backwards trying to get yardage.

The past 5 seasons we've had terrible OL play. One off-season isn't going to miraculously fix our issues there.

He's too worried about his completion percentage and having a low interception stat.

While I say this jokingly, sometimes I do wonder if it's true...

Half of VN use this in their argument to support him as a starter - " look at JG go, he's completed 10 passes for 50 yards"

Seriously... It is going to be interesting to see who leaves Pruitt's staff at seasons end. Is he comfortable as is, or perhaps he sees the issues as both personnel and coaching.

JG was camping in the pocket on the 4th down play.... that one was all on him
