DB room status from the mother ship
A great opportunity to see all the moving parts of greatest area of concern on the side of the ball with the most questions. Coach is certainly not trying to play the undermanned card to hide behind later, but does not appear to be overselling the room either. The heavy distribution of reps is MORE possible since the staff is not doing a massive INSTALL and having to get ready for game 1 in a new system for everybody. So last years squad members are familiar with several positions and the transfers have been through it before too. Coach seems to be REALLY prioritizing getting each guy into the position"S" that best suit his athleticism, regardless of where he played in HS or last year. Flexibility and depth are drivers here too. He seems to be as comfortable as he can be without the benefit of many scrimmages and any real game action. Worth the time investment if you are comprehensive input hungry like me.
Bet it does not hurt that we have lots of reps against a really talented receiver group.
