I'm not sure our Defense could be much worse than it has been this year. I know Troy has a pretty good offense, but at this rate Troy will put up 500 or more yards against us today.

No way they can stop our O though. We can get lucky and force a turnover or a 3/out

I don't know what you guys expected from our defense but no one with even the slightest understanding of football should be surprised that defense is our weak link this year. We made a major shift in defensive philosophy this season. The players we have were recruited because they fit the old scheme. Most of these guys have never played in a 3-4 before. They don't have the bodies, skill set or experience for this defense. Before the season began everyone predicted that the shift in D would cost us some games. It will pay off in the long run as we bring in guys who are better suited for the scheme but in the short term we'll suffer with transitional players.

Pay attention, we play more 4-3 and nickle than we do 3-4 right now. Face it, our D is just plain bad and Sal has done nothing to make them better.

We play a lot of formations but our base D is a 3-4.

I will cede however that our secondary is weak. We don't have much there. Their weakness is forcing us to play nickel or drop the LBs into coverage. That's hurting the pass rush and opening up holes against the run.

It's like watching a high school defense trying to stop an college offense

The players know they are not being put in a position to be successful. Feel for our players.
