I know we need an OC but our recruiting took a big hit when we lost Trooper. I think we should look at Orgeron to be our d-line coach and recruit like a champ. Fulmer better not pull the usual crap that he does and try to promote from within. If he does then I hope he gets canned immediately. Trooper Taylor took a job at OK State to be a co-offensive coordinator. Just what the hell is a co-offensive coordinator? They have lied to him to get his recruiting abilities. He's no more an OC than he is at UT. I can't believe he went to OK State from UT. Have we let Fulmer take us this far down the food chain? If we keep giving guys like Fulmer raises for mediocrity, then we will be at the bottom of the SEC eventually.

If Marrone is the leading candidate for OC, there's no question(IMHO) he's more qualified than TT. I agree with Orgeron, why not?

He correctly identifies that NFL OC > College position coach who has never called a play.
Stop it. You jagoffs keep injecting logic into this discussion. Why must you people interfere with the irrational ravings of people crushed by the departure of a Wide Recievers Coach/Rodeo Clown/Gymnist who helped UT win exactly nothing during his tenure?

Trooper left because Oklahoma State pays their assistants well. He left to make more money and regardless of what his duties are at Oklahoma St. the title of co-oc looks better than WR coach on the resume. As much as we would like to think that everyone wants to coach the Vols they are only middle of the pack in the SEC as to what they pay their assistants. Tennessee is going to have to realize that the SEC has changed in the last few years and they need to get the checkbook out and pay up if they want good coaching.

I agree. We should pay good coaches well. Rodeo Clowns/Gymnists? Not so much.

We might as well hire Snoop Dogg and put him on the sideline. He could pump up the players, recruit well and burn one with them after the game.

No way I want Coach O at UT. Really though I wouldn't mind having him, just couldn't play the Coach O song anymore on VN Live.

In reference to Orgeron coming as D-line coach:

He might, tie that in with recruiting coor., but UT is going to have to up the anty with money for coaches, or we are going to get run over by other SEC schools who are willing to dish out big money to coaching staffs.

Would Orgeron take a job as D-line coach?

Tell me what is wrong with Dan Brooks. Ever decent defensive line recruit sent his way, he has put in the NFL. Most unappreciated assistant coach on the team. Maybe if he would wave a towel and jump up and down like an imbicile ..........???:banghead2:

I don't get that firing, wasn't Miami's D the only thing good about them the past few years?

Yeah, thats what I was thinking, I know they are down, but it seems the offense is the Achilles heel on that team.

Yeah, firing Walton really hurt them. The #2 linebacker prospect in the nation committed 24 hours after they canned Walton. Tennessee has exactly no shot at getting any of Miami's commits.
