Orgeron Staying in NFL?

I think he is just speculating after the Saints have supposedly offered a raise. Coach O has kept it under wraps pretty well. I still think it's about 80/20 he comes to The Hill...

It boils down to who you want to trust on this one: the media who gets paid for controversy or Orgeron who has commented on returning to coach with Kiffin. Lets not forget we already know he has looked into the personel of the players here. I am sure he also knew Monte was coming so if he was not coming there was no need to do that unless he knew he was coming.

the backwards chest bumping hat could wind up on the Plains........hm.

I have no insight into the matter, but Orgeron's skillset lends itself better to college coaching. And I would think he would know that.

I don't like that. I'd rather TT stay outside of the SEC if he's not with UT. People on this board don't like him but I think he is a fantastic position coach, great recruiter, and great motivator. I don't know how much of a hand TT had in calling the plays as co OC but OK St. looked more explosive on offense than I've ever seen them and was able to compete with the big boys in the Big 12. He'll be a big help wherever he lands but I think he would have fit in well with Kiffins staff as OC. Kiffin will probably call plays and TT could recruit and coach up WRs or RBs.

I know, man. It was hard for me to move past it at first but the significant improvement of each position he coached finally won me over and I realized that his coaching/recruiting affected me more as a fan than the damage that his chest bumps did to the players. I do know a guy that was sucked into the turbulence caused by TT wearing his hat backwards......not a pretty sight.

I agree not sure why so many people dislike TT.
He coached up tons of players.
in 04 he had two RB's go for 1000 a piece
in 05 he was able to replace riggs with Foster who performed pretty good.
in 06 he turned that underachieving WR unit into a major strength
and in 07 he got that unheralded bunch to overachieve
whats not to like name me another coach on the staff who did that much.

Who cares if he chest bumps and wears his hat backwards?! The man can coach (see above post from velovol)!!! He can get them to perform. That's all we should care about. Quite frankly, I like the chest bump. It was refreshing to see some emotion on the sidelines from players and coaches. It's gets the players fired up and that was something UT has lacked for a long time... FIRE!

That's true......TT showed more emotion in one quarter of football then CPF showed in a whole season.

TT is in a good spot right at Okla State. They had their first success in a long time at Okla State, and so he has security. I doubt he makes a lateral move anywhere unless its significantly more money or responsiblity :twocents:

Who had more to do with those receivers in 06 and 07, Taylor or Cutcliffe?

Will Muschamp, viewed somehow as one of the greatest assistant coaches in history, chest bumps players (but doesn't wear his hat backward---I don't think he wears a hat).

I dont know the answer and I doubt you do either.

I do know they got better and that is a fact, the running game got worse after he left the RB coach pos and that is a fact.

It is a fact the Ok St had a helluva offense and Coincidently he is over there.

Give the guy some credit.

^^^Man this stuff changes day to day.

Which is why it would be best if we listen to our new HC and be patient, its going to take time to get the staff together. We can talk all day about who we want on the staff, and who we don't want. I for one am going to heed the advice of our HC. Wait and see. I assure you, after the staff is together there will be plenty of opinion on whether or not he made it right.

Then there wouldnt be much of a message board.

UT needs to up the offer to orgeron to get him to leave the Saints. He'll be a key part of the defense and recruiting. Pay him whatever it takes!

It's not the money that is holding Coach O back...it's the family...

Coach O loves the college game, and is well suited for it. But the family loves the Nawleans area.
