With New Orleans done for the post-season, Marrone took the Syracuse job. He was the OC with the Saints I believe.

Just was wondering if ya'll thought that Coach O might decide to join UT soon if it's going to happen. I'm still nervous about LSU talking to him. I think he's a key piece to our recruiting abilities because I just don't see Monte going out on the recruiting trail. What do ya'll think?

Coach O is the biggest recruit left on the board IMO. I have a gut feeling it is going to happen. I don't think we are hiring Monte to recruit, but if YawYaw doesn't make it this way, Monte's presence will be a powerful recruiting tool.

If he is a smart man (and I believe he is) he should come here and take over the defense after Monte retires. Learning from Monte will make coach O a very well rounded DC/recruiter or whatever they need him for.

Whose to say that after Saban distributes his players salary for the incoming recruits and returning players that he doesn't match or better any offer that might come from the Vols.

I just want to hear that John Chavis has been hired at LSU as the DC so we can know for sure that Coach O is coming. If Chavis takes the Clemson job I will be nervous about him coming then even more than now.

Another advantage of him coming here, he would almost have to have a title like Asst HC. That way Monte would report to him and not Lane directly, to get around the nepotism thing...

Agreed. I wondered if Steele wouldn't be better in the long run. What is the chance, if O doesn't come?
