I believe Vols defense will keep this game within hand if Poole gets over 100 yards and Simms plays close to tonights game!!

Our D played very well tonight. If we slow them down and our Oline allows us to run the ball somewhat we will be ok. If we can't run the ball and it all comes down to Simms and we are not able to play action pass because they aren't playing the run then we are in for a long night. It will all come down to how the Oline plays.

a good showing for the ducks, but not only is our d playing pretty agressive, we have coach wilcox, who is very familar with the quack attack. Great job tonight guys. outstanding!

We need to play all four quarters next week. Second half wins the game when we play the ducks.

I agree with our defense and Poole. But Simms is going to have to have a better performance than he did tonight. He wasn't awful, but WAY too many high passes.

The main thing I'll be looking at next game is our defense. How is Wilcox going to counter Oregon's speed. They're one of the faster teams we will face this year.

New Mexico won ONE game last year. We could have hung 70 on UTM without much problem.

I think our D keeps us in it. At least I hope so. The bad thing about tonight is that we still don't know much because the talent level will definitely escalate next week. I liked some of our quick strikes on offense. It looked effortless on the pass after the interception. I think we may be better on offense than we showed this week. Again, at least I hope so.

Simms started off the game with good accurate passes but then threw some high passes but came back pretty good.That pass he threw to Jones should have been a touchdown with a accurate pass!

....utm is an fcs school and not a good one at that.

That's like talking about scoring 70 on utc

I agree. It is kind of fun to think that we could beat them and have some great momentum when it gets to Florida. After the way they looked today.... I am so glad that Tebow is gone. GO VOLS!

The bottom line is Oregon and Tennessee both just whooped up on some very inferior competition. Although I liked some of the things I saw tonight, it's still not enough to guage where we are right now. And I imagine the same thing could be said about Oregon.

You do know that the score was already at 59 before halftime right?

If anything it sounds like they took their foot off the gas the second half

Let's not give New Mexico too much credit here. UTC just might beat them. UTM wouldn't be too far behind. We both played god awful teams. We'll see what happens next week.

Yes, but you all only put up 50 points against an FCS opponent who went 5-6 last season. An FBS victory is better than ANY FCS victory for an FBS team. Period!

You're right, I'm just saying you could have put UTM in the MWC and they could have won one game last year. And yes, I also believe that Oregon would have scored 100 if they had the chance.
