So according to a recent ESPN article, Pete Carrol will forfit 1 timeout per half for a total of 2 in order for his visiting USC Trojans to were their home jerseys. That's how the NCAA rules read. This confirms that it is possible for a UT vs Bama game with both teams in home colors. The visiting coach would have to be willing to forfeit timeouts.

Stupid rule to begin with. Not sure there's a B&W TV left in the whole country, which was the reason for the rule being made...

definitely a stupid rule. if there's enough of a contrast, then who cares what color the jerseys are. not to mention even on a b&w tv, you can tell between teams like UT and UA, and USC and UCLA.

It's a good concept, but a coach would be out of his mind to give up timeouts just to wear a certain jersey color. If UCLA were to upset in a close score, this could come back to haunt ol' Pete.
