Going up and bringing the fam. This will be my kids (5 and 7) first trip to Neyland. It seems like the start time is a tad later than usual. I want to be sure we get their early enough to park and whatnot, but I'm thinking several hours in line for autographs may not be the best idea as they will get bored I'm sure. Any recommendations for pregame stuff that will keep the kids entertained?

Go to TBA, it's not a far walk at all from Neyland. They normally have it open. I've gone down on the court before and shot some hoops, also walked in once and there was volleyball practice going on

Does anyone know if you can get down on the field without being in line for autographs? Never been down on the field, but would love to if possible. Thanks.

Don't see why not. I've seen dads & kids play catch on the field. If anyone asks just tell them the line was too long for autographs.

Last year, my son and I got in lines starting at around 7:30-8:00 a.m. to eventually wait for autographs, etc. We ended up being within about 15 people of the RB table before Fan Day ended and they all left the table(s). There were just so many people getting 5-10 items signed and cutting line; it's honestly an absolute cluster and a mess.

So my son & I are just going for the game this year. We'll be there about 3:15-3:30 to park and get a seat but there's no way I'm doing Fan Day this year.

It's still mind boggling to me why any of us care to get autographs from these kids...just go and enjoy the day/game, people make asses of themselves oogling 18-22 year old boys.

I generally agree with you but if that upsets you don't ever...ever, ever, ever, ever, ever go to the recruiting forum. The oogling starts when these kids are about 15-16.

Well, I wasn't exactly expecting to defend my decision to get an autograph for my football fan of a son, but here I am anyway. It's obvious to me that by standing in line biding our time for something they offer as a festivity before the game, we were not "oogling" anyone but simply wanting a souvenir for my son to put up in his room.

The people that take it so seriously that they want to have 5 helmets, 3 shirts, their mama's bra, and their own nasty man-cleave signed by these 18-22 year old kids and ruin opportunities for everyone that gets in line to get one or two simple autographs on a program is what's ridiculous.

Yeah I agree should be a limit on the items -- if your son wants to meet Alvin Kamara still - he will be at Sports Treasures on the 23rd signing autographs

Weather is not good for Middle Tennessee with stronger cold front, rain, storms, lightning. Are ther provisions to move indoors?

should have had it last Saturday -- I think it all gets cancelled unless the forecast changes by Thursday

I would much rather see them open the TBA, introduce the team, allow for extra autograph and meet and greet. It means a lot to these players when youngsters ask for their autograph and photo. Big wheels need to step aside for the players to meet the kids.

Another idea is to open indoor facility and offer tours of weight room, cafeteria, etc. I hate to see an opportunity to gain buy in and form good relations (motivation) fail due to rain.

Playing in the rain with a gimpy team, not a good idea IMO.

Im sorry you didn't get to the table with your son. I thought it was against the rules to get more than one thing signed?

I have gotten through 2 entire position groups the past 2 years. DL and LB in 2015 and DB and ST in 2016. I get there around 730-8.

2015 was raining and threats of thunderstorms so it might be an outlier FYI

Well, something being against the rules hasn't stopped many people before, lol. The people that were in line in front of me were seeing a lot of guys (and ladies) sneak over to the RB table and cut line, and this one guy nearly got into a fight with this older gentleman because he clearly was carrying about 6 of those mini-helmets (that had already been signed by other position tables) in line ahead of us. So it was just bad luck, but it'll keep me from trying again this year at least, lol.

I'm not going to be able to attend, is there anyway to order one of the schedule posters online?
