I don't post much at all but Rice seemed to kill us with offensive rebounding. I checked and they had 31 total rebounds, 14 offensive and 17 defensive. In the first half, if Rice missed a shot, I automatically assumed they would get the board it was so bad. I know a lot were lot from missed 3's but good grief, it was bad imo. It's like our guys were getting out-hustled, out blocked-out and anything else. What give's? I wish we were more aggresive.

The vast majority of their offensive rebounds were awful badly missed three-point shots that just happened to bounce to them. They didn’t get out hustled.

Coming into the game, we lead the nation in rebounding margin and are now 2nd. We out-rebounded Rice 47 to 31. Rice got some long rebounds off the 3. Overall, it didn't seem bad to me.

It does feel like we are giving up a ton of offensive rebounds this year, going back to the Duke exhibition as well. Outside of Duke, obviously none of these teams have much size which is concerning. Still, we are outrebounding everyone we play by wide margins. Our offensive rebounding remains a strength

I have raised this previously...w/o looking at the stats, I'm chalking most of it up to a higher than normal degree of 3-pt shooting (leading to longer rebounds) and our experimentation with line-ups.

A couple of our guys don’t attack the ball. There have been long rebounds.
We give up a few when we box out facing our man and have no idea where the ball is

Last night was a particularly tough night for long bounces off missed threes. I keep a count of those bounces where there is basically nothing our guy can do. They had 6-7 favorable bounces, even hard richochets right to their guys. I did see 2 instances where we didn‘t go after a rebound that we are probably not going to get, but I was surprised that we didn’t go after. Always room for improvement, and I do think this team is getting scrappier.

If our guys were where the majority of those balls went Coach would have eaten their lunch for bad positioning. A couple were lapses, NEARER the rim.

I'll have to say this about Rice. That Dad gum team hustles and didn't back down an inch. I was thinking last night after that was over... This was the toughest 25-point win I think I've ever seen. Those guys were hanging deep into the second half down 11 and a couple of times able to get it to eight or nine, until we got some foul shots and ran it up finally. They were out sized and outskilled, But I'll have to go on credit for bringing the fight.
