Look at what is going on! This isn’t about a football coach. There hasn’t been 1 single person who believes Doeren is a good hire. Quit asking why Currie isn’t looking at _____ or _____?

Because this is a blatant effort by Haslam to destroy TN from the inside out. You don’t want to believe it, then offer some other logical explanation for the past 2 hires and this attempt. Please, no bashing each other. I was a Gruden guy but at this point, I realize it’s bigger than him. We need a change of leadership and Jeff Brohm or Mike Gundy wasn’t going to change it. Keep tweeting, emailing and calling. The great theologian Batman said “for evil men to accomplish their purpose it is only necessary that good men should do nothing.” (lots of people have said that)

Today is huge. No trolling. No bashing insiders. No hating each other. We have to stay united and keep doing our part. People will try to come in and explain why this might work. Don’t hate on them. They don’t get it. We have to stay focused and keep the pressure on the people making the decisions. Every time you type today, aim it at Haslam, Davenport, Currie and DiPietro.
Not trying to sound hokey or anything but it’s true. I grew up in the 90’s going to Neyland and and it was the most amazing experience of my childhood. I have 4 kids and I’m disheartened to know that I won’t be able to share that with them. We have to fight this and continue the largest social media movement in sports history.

They shouldn't protest this hire, they should take a rail and string Currie, Haslam, and Davenport to it and throw them in the Tennessee river

I think it is about half right. Nothing really wrong but ... Haslam doesn't want to destroy UT. He wants to desperately hang onto control. Allowing "other" money to get involved dilutes his control.

Why would we fire Jones (34-27 overall, 14-24 in SEC) to hire Doeren (33-30 overall, 15-25 in ACC, on hot seat coming into this year)?

Edit: when the likes of Kiffin, Miles, Tee Martin, Kevin Sumlin, and a host of other options are still on the market?

Doeren will be the death of our program.

I just turned off singe for saying we have created a toxic environment for the hire. What are we supposed to do just sit back and let them destroy our great university?they are our employees and they better listen very intently to what we are saying. Sorry I meant Ainge

Fair enough. I’m not arguing why. The point is, he doesn’t love TN. He loves power. This is our moment and we have to fight it. He expects us to just sit idly by and do nothing. Not this time. National media be damned!

And I hope he stays. With that said, I think DD is a solid coach and can resurrect UT Football from the depths of despair we know all to well in Raleigh. His philosophy is reality when it comes to building a culture and system "Lose by a lot, lose by a little, win some/lose some, win by a little, win by a lot". In 5 years he has taken us from Lose by a lot to between the win some/lose some and win by a little margin steps. Took Clemson to the wire 2 years in a row, could have won both years had we caught that ever elusive break. It realistically takes 5-7 years to develop a program, and he has taken us to 8-4 (Could easily have been 11-1, damn those breaks we cant seem to get) with 3* talent. He can recruit, and he can coach. If you haven’t seen the episodes of "one" ONE with Wolfpack Football: Episode 7 - YouTube , it has replaced the weekly coaches show that always seemed "meh". This is unprecedented access for us Wolfpack Fans, and shows the level of commitment and love that exists within a P5 college football team.
I’d hate to see coach go, but you all saying he is a mediocre coach is uninformed, just thought I’d learn ya something. Best of luck regardless of what happens.

Everyone should act now. If this isnt fixed, if Haslam holds the power, and Currie is allowed to make a last ditch hire before hes fired (he will be fired regardless) we are looking at 10 more years minimum of failure.

Let them know this is our team and University, not one mans!!

Personally, I find this fiasco incomprehensible. The Haslams give a boatload of money to the university and surely want to be well regarded for it. Yet, they make decisions which produce the opposite effect, egregiously flawed decisions which are notoriously unacceptable. I am guessing that such behavior is a carry over from politics. Perhaps they are positioning to profit from university business and just want their yes men for that purpose. Still, this hiring mess seems unnecessary and damned foolish.

Haslam is destroying UT football by his actions over the past decade with his control at any cost dynamic funded by his deep pockets and everyone bowing to the all mighty dollar.

Whether it's intentional or not is immaterial at this point. #FireCurrie

There's something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to beware
I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind
It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
What a field-day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly say, hooray for our side
It's s time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
You step out of line, the man come and take you away
We better stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, now, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

I said this Sunday night with hardly a response. Besides the FlyinJ/pilot trial going on there is about to be a huge story drop about the Haslams and our beloved university. I've just seen people hint at the story on here and skeeter (from the RF) being one of them mentioning it. Others that have mentioned it said it makes them want to vomit.

I asked last night and couldn't get a real answer as to why are they interviewing coaches with barely a .500 record or below. As bad as I hate Bama do they not see the formula down there and want it here? Season ticket sales would be up 300%. Regular ticket sales would be up 300%. Merchandise sales would be up 300%. TV exposure would be up 300%. Recruiting would be up 300%. Knoville economy would be up 300%.

With a Haslam as the Governor he controls all Capital project funding for UT. As a family Jim, Jimmy, and Bill give millions from the Pilot corporation. That folks is a 360° stranglehold on our university.

I don't see this just being a power struggle so they can beat their chest and say this is who we will hire when you have 4B in the bank. There has to be alot more to this story.
