Open It Up Or Play Conservative?

In addition to that I think Dobbs proved last season that hes willing to put everything on the line to beat Florida. I just want to man to slide when he can.

You can't tell me that this team, the same team as last year, just totally lost the will and desire to play,, they've been holding back, and there's a reason for it. And we start playing like we have been starting Saturday.

What I was saying was I agree with you, I've been saying the same thing, we been holding back to not how anything. We've been showing just enough plays to win those first 3,games. Now come Saturday we will open up and people will see we are much better than what's been shown! GBO!!

Open it up. And if for some reason we get a lead dont let up. If we are up 28 points (unrealistic) going into the 4th dont let up. Keep going for the kill shot. Maybe end up 42 points who cares. This is going to be team 120's statement game win or lose. If we have a chance to win by 50 we should go for it. Pull the starters and keep being aggressive.

Throw the ball up the sidelines and throw some post routes. We will beat NO ONE running the ball forty times. We should throw early and run late. If we run too much early and they stuff it (which is highly likely), then they'll know we HAVE to throw it and they will just blitz and play pass defense. Another handoff to Hurd with virtually no blocking is futile IMO. Nearly everyone has been unproductive. I'd like us to have a 50/50 run to pass ratio, but I hope we throw to get a lead & run to close the game out.

You always lean on the running game if you have the horses. Use the running game to open the play action pass. With that said, first play I'd line up under center and play action pass deep. If it doesn't work run between the tackles on 2nd to make a manageable 3rd down.

Exactly. Do what you do. We re not a 5 wide, fun and gun team. And that doesn't mean we are too conservative if we dont throw it as much and take some shots. This team offensively is built around Dobbs, Hurd, and Kamara running the football. Everything else plays off that. Do what you do, and the big plays throwing the ball will be there to make.

yep. that was the big deal last year right? when it got tight, we puckered up.

agree on the fun and gun. this is a game that you have to find ways to accentuate your strengths while at the same time finding ways to exploit whatever weakness your opponent has...which in this case looks to be their offense.

both teams, especially FL, have to believe their defense can win the game, as long as the offense doesn't lose it.

that doesn't mean though, that you won't have opportunities for big plays. when they're there, make the play. dropped balls, missed turnovers, penalties that keep the opponents drives alive etc...those are the things that will get one of these teams beat.

let's face it, neither one of these teams fears the other's offense right now.

One thing I hope to not see again this Saturday is another 55 yard field goal attempt. Field position is going to be at a premium and we have a good punter. If it's 4th and 5 or less from the 35-40 yard line - go for it. If it's 4th and 6 or more - punt.

We have to run and pass, we have to mix it up. But we have to execute and get some gains in the running game as well. GBO!!!!!

Florida has a great defense but should be limited on offense, especially if Calloway is not 100%. The last thing I would like to see is for us to give them short fields. I'm one of those open it up and get the ball to your playmakers guys, but I wonder if the best gameplan this week would be to grind it out and wait for the Gators to make mistakes?

We should play like the general would play...defense and kicking game are critical...make no turnovers on O...

You are going to see the two back set that Kamara got loose on against Ohio, and they are going to run some two tight end sets.

We are going to bulldoze these chumps right out of Neyland, then we are going to start hitting those tight ends over the middle.
