Ooltewah defeated Austin East in a defensive struggle. Score Ooltewah 7 Austin East 6.
Jacques Smith sealed the win with a big hit that caused a fumble when Austin East was looking to score the go ahead touchdown in the final minutes, deep in Ooltewah territory. Ooltewah was able to punch out first downs and run the clock out...

Really bad performance by the offense though (what's new though - same as last year)... game shouldn't of been close. AE has talent - but as a team they shouldn't be competitive with teams that are expected to be as good as the Ooltewahs. Defense was on the field the whole game besides the last few minutes of the 4th.

AE had their chances to win though... several times inside our 20-30 yard line but they have no kicker which killed them in the end.

Huge play by Jacques on that strip though.

Yes, Owls defense was on the field most of the nite. A E like you said has no kicker. They kept going for it several times on 4th down , when they were within easy field goal range.. The Owls passing game was awful tonite..

They've always had talent - but Ooltewah's offense resembled the "Clawfense" tonight which is the main reason the score was so close.

The young man Ogg is going to be a pretty good player for A-E. I got to watch him tear the Morristown East defense (Hurricane alum). I think A-E fans have something to look forward to.
