and 2 of those aren't complete gimmes (vandy/UK)...either CDD will win some games he hasn't been winning against solid SEC teams or he won't...we don't know the answer right now so there is no need to freak out over this loss...the story will tell itself over the next 9 games...IMHO the worst case scenario is 7 wins...6-he just didn't get it done...8-we won 3 games against solid SEC teams and finished 5-3 in conference....7 in my mind puts us in the land of uncertainty...is he the guy or not? I just want to conclude this season with confidence that he can get it done or the knowledge that we have let him go. Of course if you told me Gruden was a 100% lock I would say I don't care what Dooley does...give us Gruden...but thats another thread entirely.

hahaha...thanks for the correction...my bad forgot about Troy! So now 7 wins is even less impressive and 8 isn't a banner year...my ultimate point is I hope we somehow win 9-10 games or only win 6...no middle ground...either wanna know CDD is the answer or he is not...

Bottomline is Dooley needs to beat somebody he isn't supposed to this year. At this point, I don't care if it is USC, Miss St., Bama, or UGA. He absolutely needs to get a signature win.

Excuses and lessons learned are done at this point.

He isn't the answer. It pains me to say it because I like him as our coach and I have really been pulling for him to take this program to the next level. The other night, however, was clear cut evidence that he has not and cannot get this team ready to win a big game.

TCU and LSU have played more freshmen than any team in the country and where are they? We don't have to play freshmen this year and where are we? The answers to those two questions answers your ultimate question as to whether he can get it done.

The bar for teams we're not supposed to beat gets lower every year, of course.

Troy is not going to be a Gimme at all. They hung right with Miss State. They had almost 600 yards of offense. Sure we could beat them, but this team to could very easily lose to them.

Let's not kid ourselves. Most were talking how great this team is, then lose to a Florida team that is at the minimum decent, and now we are chalking up Troy as a maybe? That's some off the wall stuff.

It may be off the wall stuff. Fact is Troy played Miss State last week to a 30-24 game. Most would say there is NO WAY State is a sure win for us. It only makes sense that Troy would be a good game. I know each week/team is different, but it makes sense to me anyways.

Wins: UNCS, UGA State, Troy, Akron, Vandy, Kentucky

50/50 Wins: USC, UGA, Missouri & Miss St.

Loss: Florida & "O Bama"

We need to win the games that we will be predicted to win and then win 2 of the 4 games that are 50/50.
Then Dooley keep his job. then our record for the regular season will be 8 - 4 and with a bowl victory, we will be 9 - 4.

unlike some I am not ready to throw in the towel after losing to Florida...I don't think we are a bad team...I just don't know that we are a good one (upper half of the SEC). I am willing to be rational and let the season play out before making definitive judgments...Im just hoping the answer is clear one way or the other.

Sad to say, but yes. You do realize Dooley hasn't beaten anybody in the SEC not named Ky Vandy or Ole Miss. Hell, he is 1-1 vs Ky, which is incredible.

If the Georgia game is a blow out loss you can stick a fork in him...he's done. A cultural change is needed at UT. I don't think Dooley has a clue to getting it done.

For the most part agree but I can't only look at the wins and losses. I need to look at how competitive we were in the losses. Losing by 2+TDs again to anyone, Alabama included, is not good enough.

Outside of the Ole Miss game we were competitive in most of the 2009 regular season games and look at how much talent was on that squad compared to now.

You may want to look at the supporting cast those freshmen are playing with at LSU and TCU we don't have the talent they do yet. It's one game, the sky isn't falling. Why don't you let the season play out before calling for coaches heads

If we get blown out by UGA, I would fire him before he gets out of the stadium
Great idea, that would really stabilize the program and get us back on track. Would you go ahead and call Gruden or get one of the many other high profile coaches lined up at the AD's office to become the next UT coach.

If you think on paper we should lose to Alabama by less than 2 td's your crazy. They are the best team in the country right now. Talking about unreal expectations.
