One Point Loss for either Team ='s

Rutgers has been a pleasant suprise the last couple years as a team who has come out and not sucked. They've had some very good backs, but are still not that good of a team.

The Ville has some players, but IMO is a decent at best team that still gets a ton of run for its 2004 season and that amazing bowl game vs. Boise State.

If the Big East deserves a BCS bid, then so does the Mountain West.

That is a bold, and intriguing statement... quite possible.

The only west team I like is UNR, they were pretty good last year, and looked ok against Fresno, but got KILLED by ASU.

The 'ville could still go undefeated. It is a two team race. Rutgers may be a surprise this year too. They sure play hard.
Louisville plays Miami this weekend, so I really don't see them going undefeated, it wouldn't bother me if they did but I just thought I'd throw that in there

 Don't tell me we've got another conference mixup...

Nevada = WAC

The WAC has three relatively good teams in Nevada, Fresno State and Boise State. The rest is a bunch of junk. Hawaii manages a decent offense every now and then, but that's about it.

IMO, the Mountain West can go toe to toe with the Big East.

MWC = Air Force, BYU, Colorado State, New Mexico, SDSU, TCU, UNLV, Utah, Wyoming
Big East = Cincinnati, UConn, Louisville, Pitt, Rutgers, USF, Syracuse, West Virginia

Yeah, the MWC should swap their Nevada team for the WAC's Nevada team... How in the hell did La. Tech wind up in the WAC?

If we go undefeated? Depends on who the other teams are.

After playing Texas and Michigan, if Ohio State goes undefeated they are locked for the national title game. Even the biggest SEC homer in the world would have to respect beating Texas in Austin then running the Big Ten table.

Other than that, if we go undefeated, we get dibs over West Virginia (as does nearly any other D-IA team in the country that could run the table). USC going undefeated they would have an edge over us... We have two commonplace opponnents in Arkansas and California. We would have to have a big, big win over the Hogs to overcome our game against Air Force and USC's thrashing of the Hogs.
IMO,if an SEC team runs the table by beating 3 top ten (Sec) teams, maybe four including SEC Championship game, go undefeated, they should be one of the teams in the N/C title game.

Probably. Undefeated USC vs. undefeated SEC team could be debatable depending on how the season goes. Same deal happened 2004, and the SEC team got left out because of poor scheduling practices by most big teams in the SEC.

We should get that edge if it's us in that situation because of the Cal game. Can't say the same for Auburn or LSU.

Makes sense to me.

Although... LSU does have Fresno on their schedule, which is practically a BCS-conference level opponnent to most.

i think at the end of the season, if there is an SEC champ with one loss, it might be hard not to put them in the NT game...especially if it's an Aub, FL, TN, LSU team that's played a really good schedule...of course a lot has to do with what other teams do obviously...and when you lose is more important than who you lose to...

imagine LSU or Auburn being undefeated going in to the SEC CG, and losing to a two loss UF, TN or UGA team....

I am getting way ahead of myself here, but how about this scenario: An undefeated Tennessee team and an undefeated Auburn team roll into Atlanta for the SECCG. Is there any doubt that the winner goes to the NCG? If not, there is no justice in the world, and I will have completely lost faith in the entire college football system.

To be honest, they wouldn't if a couple other teams are undefeated. There's a few teams that if they run the table would be there regardless of who the SEC winner is. Sucks that's the way the polls work. Auburn could probably go on for days about their opinion...
