That I have found with this is that no one has come out.....

Peyton, Fulmer, (someone respected by Vol faithful)....

And made some kind of statement asking for patience or calm, whatever.

Nothing to try to quell the current situation.

Nothing like.... we're all Vols pulling for the same team and what's best for the university....etc, etc, etc.

Or has that happened?

Peyton is trying to get the GM job of the browns and no one is gonna listen to fulmer .

I think everyone is either afraid to take a side right now or has something to lose by speaking.

I completely agree. It's perplexing. Yesterday was unprecedented, and our AD and prominent VFL consultants are silent the day after? Does no one have the balls to speak up?

The silence over the past few days has not been helpful to Currie. Either you tell your story, or someone else will tell it for you.

Great hire by Florida, btw.

Fulmer wasn’t asked. They consulted him on the type of coach we should go after, but no one asked for his opinion on any candidates.

Maybe they've seen Currie for what he is - an underhanded snake, and he's on his own. Don't bet in the end that Manning and Fulmer had any input in the selection of Schiano, or that Currie paid any attention to their input.

My hope is that neither Fulmer or Peyton really got to have any input and they are now letting Currie and the admistration deal with what they created. I have no reason to believe this just hope that’s what happened and it would be poetic justice.

depending on who you believe, Peyton could have signed off on Schiano....Fulmer says he wasn't involved in any way shape or form regarding any candidate selection...

so Peyton, if he was in cahoots on this, he probably would rather steer clear of any public attention at this point, and if he wasn't, he's still in that group of "in the know", and doesn't want to burn bridges....and he has other interests outside UTK that he wouldn't want derailed b/c of this.

Fulmer is probably perfectly happy watching this from the sidelines....can't tell me he's not getting a little enjoyment watching Currie squirm, and the UT faithful talk about getting "orange blood" back in to the program....

past that....no one wants to hear another canned message from BD or JC. the haslams aren't going to win over anyone. and if any of the other big boosters...really big ones...step out, it's going to be viewed as petty and vindictive.....

so...we wait and see what happens next. meanwhile, we watch it burn.......:eek:lol:
