One obvious key to beating Bama

If we miss Gibbs at the line of scrimmage their band will be playing Yea Alabama all night long.

Alabama will not let our offense start on their side of the field 3 times like LSU did.

Gibbs gained 1,206 yards in 19 games (63 yds/game) and 8 TDs at GA Tech. Let's not give the guy too much credit as a runner. His Tech stats suggest he's more of a threat coming out of the backfield with a 13 yard average and 5 TDs on 59 receptions. Heupel and Banks will put a scheme together to try to keep him in check.

Gibbs does not play for GT anymore. He has superior blocking at Bama. What was his yardage in the Arkansas and aTm games?

Scoring more points than your opponent greatly increases your chances of winning. Just in case you didn't know.

Key's to victory:
  1. The team that makes the fewest mistakes will win.
  2. Play for and make the breaks. When one comes your way—SCORE.
  3. If at first the game—or the breaks—go against you, don’t let up . . . put on more steam.
  4. Protect our kickers, our QB, our lead and our ball game.
  5. Ball, oskie, cover, block, cut and slice, pursue and gang tackle for this is the WINNING EDGE.
  6. Press the kicking game. Here is where the breaks are made.
  7. Carry the fight to our opponent and keep it there for 60 minutes

My previous post should be number 8.

Going for it on every 4th down is a loser against BAMA.

We need to play lights out, mistake free, AND SMART!

We fumbled the ball 3 times against LSU and were fortunate to recover them all. We've got to hold onto the football (I'm looking at you Hendon) because if we turn it over 3 times against Bama, we'll most likely lose.
Hendons problem isn't that he doesn't do a good job of holding onto the ball, it's that he will sidestep the defender and then wait so long that the same guy comes back and sacks him.

Whatever Texas did worked against Bama and Bryce Young. If our D can hold Bama to 20 points we have a mighty good chance of winning.
