Thanks Teeman. Those of us who remember Majors still have respect for him. That was back when the rivalry was more friendly than bitter.

It was friendly and exciting. Bama fans expected to win and won with class. Unlike Florida fans now. My first UT game was in 1982. Bama had won 12 in a row! I still remember seeing Bear. I have a piece of the goal post from that game.

Thanks again guys! About the only thing I'm dreading is the heat and humidity in Columbus, GA in the middle of summer! :mega_shok:

True that.... but you said that you are from GA. You should be used to it (unless you are in N GA.).

You guys show a lot of class here. Often you members of Vol Nation and we rivals discuss, poke fun and even argue our respecive teams and who is better and so forth in these forums. There are even threads on each of our respective forums about which rival team we HATE the most. For the most part, from what I have seen, Bamma is pretty much the clear cut winner on the Hate-o-meter here. But, you show a lot of class by taking a "fairwell" thread 3 pages in thanking this rival for his services to our country and to wish for his safety. As another rival I tip my hat to you all. It's nice to see you want to rip the Bammers, we Gators, the poodles and the whole lot's heads off in the game, but you thank your most hated rival for defending our freedoms. + 1 to you all

for you VOL fans to put up with me. Next Tuesday night, I will be in Knoxville staying at the Crown Plaza hotel. I leave from there on Wednesday to goto Ft. Benning where I will begin my Basic Combat Training for the US Army. Then, on August 10th, I remain at Ft. Benning to start Officer Candidate School.

It's been fun reading most of your posts. Of course, I think most of you are crazy but what do you expect coming from a rival?

I have a hard time believing I will have much time to watch alot of football next fall. I have a feeling I will be missing of drama from both of our respective teams.

Good luck guys! You are gonna need it.

Good luck. :salute:
