One Less Dawg To Worry About.....

Good move by Pope. He's a beast with big numbers. No way that sticking around for an inexperienced QB would help him.

That other TE that played a lot, what year is he, GaVol. He was pretty good himself.

Yeah . . . Don't get too excited about Pope leaving. The #2 TE for UGA, Martrez Milner, probably caught 15-20 passes this year and will probably be one of the top 2-3 TE's in the SEC next year. He'll be a 5th year senior.

Well, the good news is that UGA is going to be up in the air at QB.

Milner is nothing compared to Pope. His height and weight are not comparable to Pope and both of those are what made Pope the monster. Plus with the QB situation in the air, there's no guarantee the passing game will measure up to past history. It'll be interesting to see if Barnes fades into obscurity and Cox steps up to reform the duo with Massaquoi.

I can't imagine that Richt will trot a true freshman out at QB next year with Tereshinski and Cox already capable and in the system.

I am sure he will play whoever will get the job done, u know he is accustomed to winning

Barnes and Cox are not. Barnes is a year ahead. But skill-wise, Cox is the man to beat. Playing Joey T instead of Barnes speaks volumes for him. Stafford will come in and get red-shirted unless he is the second coming of Greene or better.

Having your rear end handed to you by WVU will make you think twice though. I was all ready to write off the Big East. I slammed them for even still having a BCS Bowl game. I rag all of those Dawg fans around me for an embarrassment to the conference.

Overachiever and UGA in the same sentence.....sorry BO. I just can't do it. I can't break down and say they overachieved.....something in my gut won't allow it.

Spin, I think everybody should be forced to live at least a short period of time in hostile SEC territory. It's just a different dynamic that most people don't understand.

I know that at least myself and U-T predicted Richt having a big year. They were like our team in 2004, except they actually won the SEC because they didn't have to worry about a monster in the West like Auburn.

LOL.....I'm 20 minutes from their campus.

No. I've got guts. I'll admit I even went there for two years (thanks HOPE scholarship). I was in a class with Mike Bobo and made fun of him constantly. I was brave enough to wear my UT gear the Monday after beating them.

So no I'm not afraid of catching you know what. It's just against my principles to put overachievers and their football team in the same sentence. It could be pride or just stubbornness.

I was thinking they were more like us in 1998. Of course they didn't have the same result but they had a little experienced backup and lots of evenly spread talent. They were coming out of the shoes of David Greene who might as well be their Peyton.
