Is Coach Helton. Great game Coach Helton. Now my responses are not hating on JG. But today I am giving coach Helton a ""A"" for a well coached offensive plan. Now here is the way I see it. With JG at QB Coach Helton's is trying to get a game plan together to fit his QB who doesn't seem to be able to throw a precision pass down the field. It's like Coach Helton is trying to fight with one arm tied behind his back. We all saw those passes sail 10' over the receivers heads or even under thrown. Go ahead, watch the replay if you can stand to watch it again. You only have so many seconds to get rid of the ball. You got to throw the ball as the receiver is making his break. You can forget JG throwing the long ball. That is where JG handcuffs this team. All the good defenses does is put 8 in the box and stop your run game and its curtains. Any coach can see that. So coach Helton installed the best game plan he could. The receivers became the running backs with what I call a LONG hand off and we almost pulled it off. But with JG in there the offense is just hand cuffed. He certainly can't run with the ball so that isn't even an option the opposing coach has to consider. Receivers, RB's played great and I even thought the O line played better than expected. So I hope JP give KC a chance to fail week after next.

Very pleased with Coach Helton so far. Great game plan last night with well-timed deep balls. Loved the short passing game to set up 3rd and manageable. Love using Chandler out of the backfield. Who know what might have happened without all those darn false starts

JG clearly wasn't 100% yesterday and that limited us. Couple that with a shuffled O line and I think Helton did a great job. Best game of the season for him.

David Johnson is a guy I'm high on. Our WRs run good routes, are physical and have gotten open against some of the best Ds in the country.
Wienke also doing well. Jordan is finally running between the tackles and all of our backs are finishing runs and catching the ball out of the backfield. Was able to get Fils-Aime ready to contribute is only a week.

I didn’t get to watch the game yesterday but I keep hearing the same thing in regards to Helton last night. But don’t you think Pruitt would start KC is he was the better option? He has played any and everybody on defense and other offensive positions

I give him a B. You only get an A with a W

Surprised we aren’t looking for a QB in fhe juco ranks. I don’t think JG is the biggest problem we’ve got but he’s a liability

I’ve never accepted the hate towards him honestly. Has our offense taken time to gel? Sure. But Coach Helton is a proven successful OC that any Power 5 conference would pay good money for. All he’s ever needed was our patience.

I’m not following the thought that JG can’t throw a precise pass down field. That is exactly how we beat Auburn. He threw many passes downfield exactly where they had to be that game. Yes he struggled yesterday with downfield passes, but I don’t feel that is the aspect that got us beat. Seems like a better complaint would be that we should be throwing a few more passes downfield. But the back up QB is always the fair weather fan’s favorite. Almost always a good reason why he’s the backup. But usually VN knows more than the coach.

Coach Helton, I agree the SC game was a well called game offensively. You are to be commended. Personally I think you have shown as much progress as the entire team. I have no complaints and I sincerely believe we outplayed USC. Coach Pruitt and the entire staff did a great team effort , even though it was a loss. PROGRESS IS OUR MOST IMPORTANT PRODUCT.

JG was throwing off his back foot a lot against SC, affecting his accuracy, even the short throws. On plays intended to go longer he was dropping back too far and holding the ball too long. He must be driving the coaches crazy with his (like the whole team) maddening inconsistency.

Helton's game plan Saturday could have been run by any of the QB's on the team. Raise up and throw it sideways is not a tough scheme or play. The problem is they had to resort to it because JG cannot throw down the field. His jump balls against Auburn were receiver victories not QB greatness as people are saying.
