Not so long ago I remember when the Vols had purpose and teams feared coming into Neyland. Offenses & Defenses knew they were in for a physical beat down.

The past several years our beloved Vols had gotten soft and had lost pride and toughness.

Enjoy the videos and look towards the future of reclaiming the not so distant past.

YouTube - This is Tennessee
YouTube - Rocky Top
YouTube - Touchdown Tennessee
YouTube - FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE by the Big Orange Boogie Band

Those videos make my hair stand up. I was raised knowing a physical football team. Win or lose, if you played UT you would feel it for the next three weeks.

I want us to get back to that, especially on defense. I love the way Berry plays, but I want a physical D-line, and I honestly believe Orgeron can bring it. GO VOLS!

Amazing when you go back a few years you see so much more intensity and pride in wearing the Orange&White. Of course it is always good to hear the legend John Ward as well.

The John Ward song put a lump in my throat.

Also, A. Wilson and L. Little are two of the meanest players I have seen on the field at the same time.

Kinda makes me wish we could pull a Futurama and have John Ward's head around to do games for thousands of years.

John's last game was the '98 NC. Funny we haven't done much since. Kinda ironic huh!

IMO, John Majors '89 team was as talented as any team I've seen play at Tennessee!

I have always felt John Ward did more for fan support of the team then the coaches ever did. John was simply the best and I feel so blessed to have grew up listening to him. John was so good, listening to him call a game was as close as being there as possible. I feel sorry for the young folks who have had to hear Boob Kesling.

I just can't bring myself to listen to the blithering idiot call a game anymore. He butchers the names, never gets the down and distance out in time and can never seem to be able to give out the score no matter what he is calling.

I agree Gman, I also grew up with John. I first started listening to Lindsey Nelson, on a small transister radio. Would walk around finding a place where the reception was good. We would ply football in the field listening to Tennessee football, sure miss those day's, didn't realize those were the golden day's.

I watched Kenny Chesney's video of the John Ward song if he is such a Vol fan why does he always wear caps of other SEC teams? I know this has been an ongoing topic on Volnation just thought someone may finally have an answer....

Because he is a frontrunner, I have seen him in a Red Sox cap for God sakes, he couldn't even commit to marriage for more than 2 months.

I don't care about the Red Sox but I do care about a Bammer and a Gator cap. The only thing I would do to those two caps I can't say on Volnation....

Anyone who would take the time to go back in the archives and watch the Vols before CPF, the first 8 yrs of CPF would see simularity. IMHO after the NC CPF became soft and less demanding of his players. That in turn created favortism and lack of disclipine and the downward spiral of our football program.

There was no form or fashion that would elude towards CPF that he could have righted the ship. It was ashame it came down to what happened but when an employee loses hunger to perform the inevitable happens.

I wonder about Kenny's manhood sometimes!

I don't care about his manhood does that make him put on a cap from another SEC school? I think it's about selling CD's and selling out concerts. It's all about the money and not your loyalty to your college or NFL team...

I know he makes bet's with Tebow on the Fla. Tn. games. He's probably tired of losing these bet's. Can't beat them join them jmo!
