Sophomore-heavy Chattanooga McCallie dominated Alabama's #3 ranked Madison Academy in Huntsville last night. Most impressive was the defense: penetrating, flying to the ball, controlling the line of scrimmage.

Last week McCallie opened against Chattanooga Christian, posting a 48-0 halftime lead and--despite resting starters for the second half--limited CSS to 120 total offensive yards in a 55-0 shutout.

The Blue Tornado will be at MBA Sept. 1, host Knox Webb Sept. 8 and Brentwood Academy Oct. 6.

Every football fan should attend at least one HS game each season, just to keep life and football in a healthy context. Great fun, whatever your age!

CBJ was in Chatt Town last night to watch his son Adam as Knox Catholic beat Baylor 56-24. Tennessee commits Cade Mays and Brendon Harris played up to their star ratings.

:hi: Thank you, Knox Catholic!

It's traditional during halftime that McCallie's home field voice will take the mic to annouce, "While we wait for the teams to return to the field, here are some other scores of interest from around the area."

First, he reads the score from Baylor's game.

"...and that concludes our scores of interest." :detective:

It's a good rivalry. Whenever there has been a tragedy at one school, the other will wear their rival's colors to class the next day in solidarity. The competition also inspires some impressive creativity. The past couple years McCallie's kids have written & filmed quality music videos for Baylor week.

Check out last year's (the female singer is a coach's daughter, from our sister school, GPS):

Two very good results to start the season, but better opponents are coming soon. With such a young team, the next few years could be special for my alma mater.
