On the road I am worried

I actually think we'll start off fast as opposed to our previous 4 games (minus the drive in 3rd game where we scored)

We have struggled at home all year. Tomorrow is our first real road game. The MO of this team is to play great in the second half. Far harder to do on the road. We have to start fast.

I'm not worried. Any worry I had evaporated when I saw the Vols fall behind by three touchdowns only to say "oh hell naw" and claw Florida's eyes out. Are we champions? Meh, long odds. Will we win the East? Pretty good shot. But screw the what-ifs. Tennessee's a Top 15 team with explosive athletes and a good coaching staff. They'll go to Georgia and give them a hell of a game. Win or lose, it'll be a hell of a game.

I mean, think about it. We've been the featured game on College Gameday TWICE already this year. We've been the marquee 3:30 CBS matchup once already, and we're about to be again tomorrow. We beat a hated rival and ended a vicious streak. Win or lose tomorrow, win or lose all year, we're in the national conversations about football again. That. Is. AWESOME.

Screw worrying. Just go play some ball -- or in our case, just enjoy watching them play some ball. We have a lot of really special players right now who are playing pretty well. Enjoy it. Embrace the ride. It's been a long time since it was worth embracing.

This will be no piece of cake. Alot of emotion was spent last week and we are on everybody's upset list. Stanford got curb stomped last night after coming back last week to beat UCLA. The low vegas spread tells me watch out. Hope like hell I am wrong, thinking our linebackers will have a rough game.

I am not worried either. However, I am concerned. This game is in Athens where Tennessee has not won in a long time. Now we have the momentum and the better team but UGA can be dangerous. We need the Vols to play 4 quarters. We absolutely cannot spot the dawgs 3 tds on the road and expect to win. Thats just not realistic.

All that being said, I believe the Vols will run away with this one in the end. I suspect a tough battle for a good 3 quarters and then the big orange ducks run away.

I think the momentum and the confidence they gained from last week will mean more to them than a "hangover" effect that some predict. SEC Nation...not sure of the commentator called out the entire team and then said G will beat us....nice for entertainment but has no foundation in his argument. T is the better team we just need to take it one game at a time and win.

For the first time in a long time in a big time SEC game, I am NOT worried.

THAT is worrying me. :loco:

You're not alone. This is exactly the type of game and situation UT fans know so well. It's why we have the tenn cup. They get so close to something special, get the fans to believe then the rug gets pulled from beneath them. The east is right there for the taking. This is likely the most winnable of the next big 3 games and the key to our season going forward. Folks are talking about how great UT is, playoffs, top 10 rankings and how lacking UGA is in just about every department. We have the edge everywhere except LB. Should be a win and a 5-0 record....should be. Everyone is picking UT and we know how UT does as the front runner. UGA is embarrassed and pissed. If we come out slow and let them get confident and worse, the crowd gets into it, UT will come home yet again playing the coulda, woulda, shoulda tune. Season won't be up in smoke, but the road gets damned tough and the margin for error razor thin. Better to go out and throttle them and put this one away early, but I don't expect that. Haven't seen it all season. Nope. I expect UT to be...well...UT.

Tennessee should have put 50+ on the best defense in the country last week.....we will go down and handle business and it is going to look like Tennessee 45 Georgia 21 when the 4th quarter clock strikes 00:00....I'm just saying :dunno:

We obviously do not "have to" to win. I hope we do, but 120 has demonstrated it,s not necessary in order to come out with a W. How about we support these guys even if they're behind for once, self included????

Funny thing.....whenever a top 10 or so team struggles against a lesser opponent but pulls it out at the end...and it happens every season...you hear announcers say things like "great teams....championship teams always find away to win"....maybe this just might be a championship caliber team...at least an SEC Championship caliber team :dunno:

Ol' four eyes better kick it out of the back of the endzone or Berry is gonna take it to the house. He is do, plus the extra home-state motivation.

All the Vols have to do to win this game is play for 60 minutes. On the road, they can't fall behind 2-3 touchdowns and expect to win. It's easier to come back when you have 102,000 fans supporting you.

Worrying is for loosers.

Then you weren't around in 98.

I remember people worrying about each and every game, talking about what they might throw at the Vols. We hoped our guys had found a way to negate their strengths, and use their weaknesses against them. In years we have walked in games cocky and overconfident, we have been embarrassed.

BTW, losers has only one O.

We have gotten away with slow starts against opponents common sense predictions said we should beat, Florida with a freshman QB included.

If you think we can get away with that at Georgia, at Texas A&M, and hosting Alabama? Maybe, but I would prefer we start strong, finish strong, and dominate at all points in between. And we get through with fewer ulcers.

Appleby is a senior backup QB, not a freshman.

I'm looking forward to it myself. This is when you find out what you are made of. Home wins are nice. But I like when my vols go to some one else's house and kicks there But. Lol. GO VOLS.....

Tennessee fans are always struggling with the perception -- or rather, the fear -- that we're an aging program whose best days are behind it. I think a lot of it has to do with Alabama. We're always measuring ourselves against them. And lately it's been completely unbalanced. Even if we'd won every game 45-0, there'd still be UT fans worrying about whether or not we'll win the next one, with the implication being that we're supposed to but we may not. Seems to come with the territory.

Man it sucks that everybody is just kicking away from him. I dont blame them but it stinks for us one of our best weapons is taken away.
