I expected a minor emotional meltdown from Vols fans regarding this loss. But the rest of the world moved on a minute after the game was over and, while it has taken most of the Volsfans a few more hours than the rest of us, seems like the bulk are now focused on upcoming games and that minor little thing at the end of the year called the NCAA tournament.

Yet, for some reason, I see thread after thread on here that seem ready to blame this loss on everything natural and unnatural out there, from bad officiating, to the tv announcers, to the AD's scheduling practices, to weather, etc. Some of those make sense, but most of these arguments seem to leave most of us scratching our heads.

I have been against the notion that newbies ought to have to post x number of times before starting a thread. But holy crap, come on already.

we all know it was Chism's headband falling off that caused us to lose. Everyone is else is just stretching

Could have been the medication, but as I watched the game last night I could swear I saw the ghost of the guy on the grassy knoll, dressed as an Elvis Impersonator, shooting small darts at the ball as the Vols players shot their free throws, apparently imperciptibly changing the flight of the ball.

Incidentally, the ghost's jacket had a little patch on it that said "Capricorn One." So make of that whatever you will.

Having been on this board about as long as you Law, I agree with nearly everything you have said. The important thing is to take your losses, and try to turn them into motivators for the remaining season. Having been to numerous Vandy games in the past, it is very hard to win there and it is especially hard to beat a Vandy team that is pretty good. The newbies are only expressing their feelings, as I recall that is why I went searching for a board to vent on some two years ago, and here go I.

Ditto, notice that I signed up right after the Penn State bowl loss. I agree, though, it's no fun to lose to Vandy, but this game means nothing for our tournament hopes. As long as we don't have a serious meltdown (and I don't see a BP coached team doing that) we should still get a 1 seed.
